Nick talks about "life, jokes, comedy and entertainment". That is what he says people come to listen to. He sees himself as a great comedian, great entertainer, fascinating person and social media genius. He is also an expert in relationships and religion. He has seen the law content as incidental to his success. People didn't care about the law. They cared about listening to Nick and interacting with Nick with his "fun" content.

He saw the show as talking to people, telling funny stories and telling jokes on the internet. Law was just a small part of that.

He is implying that Rippaverse is no better than Marvel Comics. A position also adopted, and likely originating from, EVS's camp. It is meant to associate Eric July with all that is bad for comic books. To cast him as the big bad.

I recall reading an interview with David Letterman and his philosophy was simply to make a show that that would amuse himself and make himself laugh. If the audience happened to like too, great, but he had a vision and was sticking to it and would never kowtow to the latest trends or ratings. Letterman definitely had bits fall flat and stuck around a bit too long, but he had the talent and the vision and redefined what late night was. The only thing Nicki has in common with Letterman is the ability to be a giant prick, but I don't recall even Letterman seething and publicly wishing suicide on his fans.
