Haven't seen this posted here, so I wanted to archive it somewhere. Youtuber "Falloutin3" interviews slowbeef about Retsupurae for its 15th anniversary, originally posted on 2/22/23. In the description, he says he contacted Diabetus for it, but got no response.
I recommend checking out the entire interview, it's a thorough timeline of Retsupurae interlaced with classic moments, but here's a list of stuff mentioned:
>BillyMC is married
>BillyMC asked slowbeef to private videos of him
>NAVGTR asked slowbeef to help them with a panel for PAX
>According to slowbeef, NAVGTR was a weird company that threw things at the wall to see what sticks, they came off disorganized (regarding the PAX panel), and slowbeef wasn't sure what to make of it
>TotalBiscuit posted about their PewDiePie video, but he and PewDiePie were under the same network, "Maker Studios"
>Maker asked TotalBiscuit to dial it back, so he reached out to slowbeef about the PewDiePie video privately
>slowbeef and PewDiePie talked years later, goes on to say, "I like the version of the story where we were like, kinda friendly afterwards, so I just kinda stick to that one."
>a guy wanted to kickstart a game inspired by Monster Girl Quest, and used his kids in the promotional video. slowbeef joked about Child Protective Services in his reaction, which the guy said was uncalled for
We're nearing their 16th anniversary on 2/28/23, happy viewing all!
That was a well edited interview. My only minor nit pick is that a lot of the clips were just them sniggering. I wonder if Diabetus didn't respond back because he hasn't been very active online lately, he streams now and then and looks like he answers questions on whatever Cohost is - Cohost
He didn't take heed the lessons of Captain Novalin -

2008 was a golden year for the Retsu kahwality and kahntent. I recall around that time they lost their channel for a bit and had to create another to use until they were able to get back on the original. I think some of the early videos on the channel might be out of order because of that but I could be mistaken. They were copying the current trend (pewdiepie) of 3 videos a day for a full month. I forget what they called it retsublitz or something. Some great vids came out of it honestly and it was the only time I had a channel I enjoyed being that active.
RIP. What happened to the "riff" in general, you found that format everywhere on early Youtube and now it's completely gone. Instead of talking over videos people pause them. Instead of aiming to make an entertaining commentary people just hit record because they are playing a game anyway and it could get a few views.
