I thought it was kayfabe at first, then it was morbid curiosity to see where he was going. Now it's popcorn bucket in hand to see what bullshit he might invent next. So far he hasn't topped the 30 man kill squad attacking him on Prince Edward Island but the Cancer arc is a strong contender.

I have been in servers where certain people lied constantly for attention and backpats and it worked, nothing as insane as TDI but still blatant lies and everyone just seemingly uncritically believed it. People really will believe anything they read online. They are that dumb.

That's probably the plan, but it's a coin toss on if he'll actually carry through with it. The problem with a lot of LARPers like id is they essentially grow too attached to their character/don't want to start over from square one, especially if they've hooked a reliable audience. I think even he realized that with the "if you see me online it's a friend or family member." He probably intends to start over, but deep down doesn't want to/knows it will be hard so left an escape plan for coming back. He'll basically just post in third person for a little about how great ID is and declassify all his previously untold mentions, so I guess in a sense it's sorta playing a different character, but he'll eventually slip up or make up something about how the cancer put him in a coma and he punched his way out of it or something.

Obviously we can only speculate on this, but it seems like a pretty plausible theory. I think it was technically revealed in the previous spinoff game, but that came out in...I want to say November or something, so still relatively close by all things considered. Even if it wasn't specifically based off the character, the plot point might have given him the idea to lie about cancer (again).

The fun thing is, it was really the day in which TheDarkId died. How the hell is he coming back from this bar with an handful of complete sycophants?
