The primary demographic purchasing video games in North America and Europe was and is white men ages 10-25. This is a fundamental truth that cannot be changed, no matter how many surveys you run or how much people scream and cry on Twitter.

In this case, it is already well into translating to lost sales, for sure. But you're correct, I suspect a lot of this is more bandwagoning a popular hate-train. SBI is a symptom, not a cause. That being said I do see corporations like Blackrock being mentioned more and more which is interesting because I remember not too long ago that mentioning Blackrock fell into the whole "conspiracies" bullshit. Not anymore, it seems.

But if you take the ItsAGundam video, for example, you notice he says he wouldn't have purchased Spider-Man 2 if he had known SBI was involved. I don't believe him when he says this. It's this thing streamers and gamers seemingly need to keep in touch with. An addiction. Even though they know it's bad, they don't stop consooming it. They continue on so they can be apart of the whole Let's Hate scene on YouTube and elsewhere. Same as how Synthetic Man plays games he knows are shit--he does it because it gives him something to complain about for a few hours before he picks up the next thing.

And i believe most of the time that people do not hold onto the outrage or principles is that they simply forget, which is something that they will regularly get a reminder whenever they see the curator under the game they looking at.
