I would say yes for the most part. He is genuinely deluded and if that delusion vanished, he'd probably have an irreparable mental break and run around the streets of Seattle with his penne in the wind. I believe some of the things he says are also affirmations. As in, he doesn't necessarily believe them but he really wants to so he keeps repeating them because hopefully it will come true.

He doesn’t put the inputs on the screen because the faggot knows it would cause 90% of his excuses to turn to dust. Same as the “pc has a huge input lag advantage” even though digital foundry put that lie in its grave at launch.

He’s praying the excuses will stick just as well as his begging. Just to string along the retards for another stream as the world picks on poor fat Phil and support him to own the trolls.

This is all to say, if he had any truly “genetic” personality disorders, it would be his narcissism. The symptoms related to BPD or other associated disorders—while perhaps clinically diagnosable at this point—are simply side effects of his way of life imo, as he seems much less volatile in his early life from what I can tell. I've been saying this for years, but DSP is autistic, literally. Infact I had to help a young family member do mental health screening and one of the things that came up was the ASSQ (Autism Spectrum Screening Questionnaire). I'll attach it to this post for all to see, but my spouse and I sat for a chuckle and ran down the list of DSP traits. It was kind of shocking how high of a score he got, when we talked to a (practicing psychologist and professor of psychology) family member about Autism, he said those with narcissistic traits and autism tend to exacerbate their symptoms because of their stubborn belief that they are correct above all else. So the scoring may be unusually high because of how isolated the person was.

One of the other things the family member noted was that in isolation the tendency to re-define words, or reassure yourself of the meaning of common phrases is pretty common in autistic folks, and another reason why even if they are independent enough to survive without family, they should still be in a home. They will eventually estrange themselves from society itself. Spouse and I gave DSP a whopping 40+ (I think it was a 43) on this, you only need over 15 to be given a closer look for signs of autism. If anyone is interested I'd be more than happy to try to break down our scoring.

You are mixing up autism with a crippling narcissist. You have to remember Phil has not socialized with people in 10 years, 10 fucking years. Narcs find it hard or don't like socializing because it is all about them. Phil as a child was incredibly spoiled to the point that his parents going through an in-house separation just spoiled him more. His mother also massively enabled him as a child and young adult.

Phil is also frankly not intelligent, he is too intelligent for low-functioning and too dumb for high. However, most narcs have below-average IQ, patterned behavior, and don't socialize. You also need to remember he was sheltered as fuck and those kids are always awkward.

Now does Phil have BPD and ODD abso-fucking-lutely. It is most likely genetic the BPD and I think from Linda or her side as Dave finds her insufferable. His scenario is really similar to Chris Chan's honestly, the father is normal but the mother a complete fruit loop.

I think it's a little of column A and little of column B. I think he knows his excuse for lag is bullshit but he can't admit it. But he for real believes that the game drops his inputs or that there's nothing he can do in certain matches since his opponent is "mashing jab mashing jab mashing jab" but his narcissism and laziness stop him from truly taking any effort into understanding these games and getting better. He's just coasting off legacy game play. But this isn't new to him, he was "the guy" on the SRK forums that always complained about American controls, or using converters or playing on console. Which he claimed was a bit, but no one was laughing so I think it was real and he just needed excuses not to play certain people or needed reasons why he lost other than just losing

Wanted to bring this up before but forgot, I think he 100% knows hes wrong about why the FGC and other players hate him. He knows its about his shitty attitude and not that he got big on youtube before they did. I say this because a twitter account called scrub quotes, someone who posts pics and videos of people whining when they lose in competitive games, posts him a lot. And around January he brought them up when he said he'll be less toxic.

Long story short he thinks scrub quotes uses him a lot and says hes a bad player because hes rude, or calls the other player stupid or something similar, and that the FGC is offended by this. Its not offense, its humiliation to be on scrub quotes. Its meant to call you a bad sport, a baby, a sore loser. He knows this, unless hes actually pants on head retarded and is really good at hiding it. He just cant take that hes actually at fault and getting publicly called out for it. so he does mental gymnastics to say to his retarded viewers that the FGC is now a bunch of woke pearl clutching sissys that cant take jokes like the good old day.

I would agree that he exhibits some traits on the spectrum, but that if he does have autism it is somewhat mild. Although they may feed into one another, if Phil hadn’t just been coddled growing up and didn’t ever try to become an IRL wrestling heel he probably would have been harder to distinguish from a normal person. There are plenty of “functional” narcissists. Modern day Phil doesn’t fit into this category tho.

I firmly believe that Phil is just that deluded. He has such a high idea of himself that he's more willing to question everything about reality before even considering that he's just not that good at Tekken. For example, he insists about that Tekken 3 local he once won and he even still has the trophy, so in his mind, he's already a top player the same way he feels entitled to being a top level SF6 player because he made it 4th place at EVO one year (even though he took advantage of the circumstances to make it that far). He will remind everyone that he once beat JWong instead of remembering that he was basically a walking ATM for many FGC players.

Although he also has a very selective memory, probably because of all the gin but also because of how much he thinks of himself and how because of that he can't be at fault for anything. He made sexist, racist jokes back in the day? Well, it was the audience's fault for being young. People aren't supporting FF7R? Well, it's the developers' fault for releasing so many RPGs in a row. He insulted someone completely unwarranted? Well, he's under a lot of stress because of the trolls and he's just human, after all. He talked shit about players and cried when they wanted to fuck him up? Well, he's an alcoholic so he doesn't know what he said.

I was recently watching the Dent Sea Scrolls episode with Jaha and it's interesting when you see the image the FGC has of the Cannon brothers compared to Phil's. While Phil talks about how they are money-hungry assholes who sold sloppy code to Capcom for profit and he was the only one that called it out (but also he didn't), everybody else just says that they worked on rollback netcode for free and then gave it to Capcom just to improve the online experience. I'm convinced that Phil tried it and after realizing he wasn't as good as he was, instead of just accepting that he simply sucks, he decided that rollback netcode just isn't good and despite the Cannon brothers being described as great coders and everybody agreeing that it's way better than what they had, Phil simply knows better, because it makes more sense to him that the code is faulty rather than him. And I'm convinced that he went with this idea for so long that he eventually made up a story where he confronted the Cannon brothers and they admitted that the code sucks and they sold it for money, to the point he now recalls that fantasy as something that actually happened.

Also, they weren't on YouTube nor they planned to like Phil tries to claim now. I don't even think they knew how "big" he was, only that he was on YouTube, and the one person who called him out (Justin Wong) said it because online he was a keyboard warrior but IRL he was a sissy.

This reminds me of how he spent 300 dollars on a professional stick just to beat scrubs and casuals on joystick. When he did that, it was fair game and he didn't have any complaints, it was only when he started to play against PC players that he suddenly started to cry that ALL PC players are ultra tryhards that bought 3k PCs, tweak their settings and play on a special super secret OS exclusively made for fighting games. Not only that sounds retarded no matter how you try to analyze it, but SF6 is obviously locked at 60 fps, so no amount of tweaking will suddenly give you extra internet speed. Not that it matters because having 20ms or less makes the connection worse according to Phil, and of course, there just isn't any other possible explanation. They just had to be cheating, that's what the average PC player does, not just install a bunch of lingerie/underwear mods, they build an entire OS just to get a 5ms advantage, which Phil's gin-soaked brain can obviously notice.

But buying a pro stick to stomp casuals is fine tho. That's not having an unfair advantage.

Phil does recognize that the older he gets, the worse he gets at games due to lower reaction speed. Also, I think if he was pushed by the right person which he'll never allow, he'd admit things like "Yeah, I do things that sort of worked 15 years ago and I'm not bothering to change now." All of his lahg and rollback netcode nonsense and everyone else is a pattern scrub while he's an intelligent skilled player is narc stupidity he actually believes.
