>immediate Melania dick suck when lore is brought up

I get that she’s neat and tied to the Golden Twink, but she’s a shit waifu. She lost against Radhan and resorted to a suicide attack that brought back toxic.

Anyway, the Golden Order is something that in setting is both a philosophical-religious idea with the turtle pope espousing that. It absorbs opposition unless that Opposition literally can’t be controlled, the Grace is a physical thing in setting. It manifests in the eyes. The Fundamentalists from my understanding arose from the Shattering because Those Who Live in Death defy it. Gold Masks ending isn’t inviting them in like Fia, it’s more Buddhists killing people because those people would cause them to fault eventually.

Miquella seems to be Mr. Do-No-Wrong in setting. His departure from the Order, the Fingers, and the Greater Will are kind of what makes me think it’s evil. The Elden Beast, too.

I wish there was a turtle pope ending.

I'll take Rot Bitch simping over more "DIDJA KNOW RADHAN LEARNED GRAVITY MAGICK SO HE COULD KEEP RIDING HIS HORSE AFTER HE GOT TOO BIG" shit.

Such a dumb piece of lore and makes me not take the guy seriously. Reminds me of the fat rollerblading rocket man from Metal Gear. It's so goofy it feels out of place because of the tone from games tend to stick to with their big name characters.

Turtle Pope is the best because he’ll teach you whatever.

Radhan’s magic school is the best and beyond the horse stuff seems like a cool guy in lore. Melania made two areas (maybe three) into poison swamps. Her miracle also sucks ass compared to the Dragon incantation.

His lore is just big motherfucker seems loved by his men and loved his horse. Melania’s is some edgy shit and the lore around her is even edgier.

Arguing over whose lore in a Souls game sucks the least is like arguing over which Greek god was the least assholeish.

Radhan refusing to leave his horse even after he lost his mind represents his inherent nature to try and preserve the current thing, which is the opposite of his brother Rykard, who is trying to change the current thing. Basically, neither truly have free will and are acting the way they do because they are just representations of Marika's emotions with very limited actual free will. Their runes are opposite sides of the same coin, basically. Radhan rides his horse (good animal) while Rykard is ridden by a snake (bad animal),
I agree its a bit goofy though and most people have this shit fly over their heads.

TLDR;
Rykard: NEW WORLD ORDER! NEW WORLD ORDER! NEW WORLD ORDER!
Radhan: No, stalker child! I will NOT betray Zee Golden Order.

The actual lore in these games isn't really that interesting in and of itself. Miyazaki's whole schtick is leaving suggestive breadcrumbs for people to chase inbetween being invaded or dying in some ridiculous fashion for the gorillionth time. It mostly works though, so who can really blame him.

True, FromSoftware is know to re-use assets on occasion, but I don't believe it's always a bad thing.
It's better to wait a bit for more information to come out, then make your decision. As it stands, it's still too premature.
Agreed, it's what lets them keep a consistentish one big game a year. Reussing assets isn't a bad thing as long as what comes out of it is fun or compelling and a lpt of atudios xould learn from that. Suicide Squad would have had a better time reusing the Arkham city Harley assets for example.
He will be the same height as the player and there's a good chance he will seethe at us about it as if we care.
Miquella npc boss fight like Gideon confirmed. Miquella will be caught in his roll spam and punished accordingly.

Hey now, Leonard is best horsey and I can respect a man that stands by his comrades, be they man or equine.

Not everything in the lore needs to be pseudo epics of thee and thou. I do agree that it gets tiresome if mentioned constantly. It's just a neat detail.

Also FINALLY beat Mogh without any bullshit of using spirits. Took me levelling 20 more times, and doing multiple runs to gather extra equipment, but dual handing Moonveil with Uchi with the jumping attack buff items finally gave me the edge I needed. Must have tried the fight 50 times.

Next time around try using Carrion Retaliation on Mogh's blood slinging BS.
Also frostbite works pretty good at adding a little more umph to your damage output.
Well fuck, never even thought that Carian Retaliation was an option. I did have the cold affinity set on the Uchi and that freeze proc definitely did work though.

The answer is Hades. Objectively, it's Hades.
Ares honestly isn’t as bad in myths. His worst showings are cucking a manlet multiple times, getting angry at Hercules for killing his son (his son was a monster), almost killing Hermes when he was a POW in a giant cup, and being hated by Zeus for staying out of his parent’s quibbles.

He’s kind of war hungry, but he’s less of a general planning and more fighting. Like every time a hero beats him in myths he gets ganked by Athena throwing fucking lightening or blinding him.

agreed. Radahn was so determined to prevent change that he stopped the cosmos in place. The fact that this remains true even after he completely loses his mind (and starts eating his comrades) suggests that his opposition to change -- and his love for his horse, I guess -- are more central to his identity than his love for his subordinates. It's so "core" that it's subconscious and autonomic.

I really like how Mesmer's design is dripping with things that are Heretical to the Erdtree and Golden Order religion

>Red Hair
>Magma/Fire
>Armor is a little dragony
>Briars
>Giant snake draped around him

My current theory is that he's actively trying to make himself into a Devil-figure to get Marika's attention. Like old Dagoth-Ur being the Sharmat.

Except red hair is the mark of Radagon (Marika), a champion of the Erdtree and generally viewed as a good thing, and dragon worship isn't considered heretical due to Godwyn.

The briars are a bit iffy, as the Erdtree uses briars as a way tp keep people out of the Mountaintop of the Giants, but then there's the Blood Star stuff which probably isn't a good thing.

Red hair is also symbolic of the giants, and Radagon wasn't a fan of his own hair due to how angry he was about giants.
True, but all red hair denotes in this case is that it marks Mesmer as a child of Radagon.

The thing with the giants having red hair and Radagon being unhappy about it makes me think either it was some pointless trivia or possibly some plot point that got scrapped. I lean towards the former in this case.

You're both wrong. The red hair shows you were made via the crucible, not related to giants. the giants came from the crucible but radagon isn't related to them. Radagon was a wild beast (possibly misbegotten) with red hair. marika transformed him into a human which is why you can see on his talisman de-thorned roses. the thronless roses symbolise the wild beast like / crucible like aspects that he lost when marika transfomed him into a human. this is also probbaly why he doesnt like his hair. it reminds him he wasnt born human. there are many cases in the game where the erd tree / greater will can change animals into diffrent animals. like the beast men of farram azzual. they used to just be normal animals and then the greater will came and made them intelligent, it wasn't gradual evoloution it happened over the course of secconds. we even get the description "the beast men must of felt their wildness slipping away once civilization took hold".
imainge if you were a wild low IQ beast your whole life and then suddenly a god came and transformed you into a human with a high intelligance, must be a pretty surreal / sceary expeirance.

Oh yeah. The giants also have a clearly different shade of red hair from Radagon and his children / misbegotten creatures. the fire giants hair is sort of gingery while everyone else's is solid pure red.
