yes

Yes but you're ignoring my point. If your niche interest is so self-identifying, talking about it in KF-adjacent whatever is not any further security. If you get doxed you still get doxed. Trying to hide this is just literally impossible and will encourage people off-site where I have no control.
What I'm getting from this is that Kiwifarms has a unique online culture and discussing niche hobbies that can link back to your real identity is a terrible idea and no one can do anything about it because any alternate paths would create a disaster that isn't contained to it's own website.

Which is counterintuitive to wanting the off-topic boards to be used for such discussion. What I’m saying is, if we adjust the culture so that it’s not “cool” to pull up some Farmer’s grandma’s Facebook when he was just discussing Bitcoin and gaming PCs, then there would be less incentive to do it and it would be much less of an issue.

I’m not saying to not pull out the sauce when someone is being a faggot. It’s just that, if Josh wants people to use KF more like social media (which is kind of how the off-topic boards operate), then there has to be a reaction of “that’s not cool” when someone does in when it’s uncalled for.

I don't disagree, but what is the solution? He has a point on it just happening on splinter sites and other places once they compare your KF history with your other identities. Only difference is they can't bother you HERE specifically. It doesn't change anything except the location of your dox.

Yeah, but opsec will always be a thing and most people don't have much in the way of personal morals when it comes to revenge doxxing.
That is true and always will be true, and I’m not suggesting a solution to it. The thing that can change is peoples’s reactions to when it happens.

Nowhere else really has a platform for that kinda thing except maybe doxbin, and even then they don’t have an audience like KF does.

how hard is it exactly to just post about your hobbies without doxing yourself?
