Do you have a source for this? I tried looking this up and I cant find anything that matches what your definition. The laws on it I can find dont list "they responded to me" as a defense for harassment.

The definition you gave doesnt make any sense. It would make it prosecution of harassment almost impossible, since most people would probably tell someone bothering them to fuck off at least once. Being harassed and having a conversation arent mutally exclusive states. A few articles I found even suggest you to tell the person that they are breaking the law and to stop contacting you (which is what pat does). Since it helps legally to show that you don't want the person to contact you.

Patrick also hasn't bothered to change his phone number, and while I'm sure he's blocked numbers before, I'm pretty sure he just eventually stops responding when pests text him instead of xeeting at him.

Step 1 of combating a stalker/harasser is changing contacts or and hiding the new ones.

Plus Patrick is a pUbLiC fIgUrE. A famous literary genius, child. He gets treated differently for stuff like this than regular citizens, by definition.

Normally I would agree this is harassment (and sometimes I would still agree its borderline) but aside from preventing anyone from feeling real empathy for him, Patrick continues to feed the trolls and won't even do Step 1.

Yes but it's probably a case of "it's OK when we do it." Pests have made a Pat video game (or two), Pat voodoo dolls, Pat sculptures, numerous artworks, lots of music, and taken photographs of themselves literally shitting on Patrick's books (or poop on the books after the fact). Now I think this is funny (or "pretty fucking good" lol), especially the game, but it definitely borders on what we would consider a-loggy. That said, I would think most users here would and will continue to look the other way because they are not actually physically harming Patrick.

That's why they don't like us. We just have a generally different culture. Also they seem to believe the lie that Null is a pedophile despite him actually helping their site at one time via a hosting platform. And when they were finally fully exiled from Reddit years ago there were some people here who suggested allowing them to have a board just for Patrick and ONA here, but Null chose to go with the advice he received that said not to have them.
