Should sticker notifications be brought back?

Like I said, I dont have your eyes but the site seemed to be running just fine to me. The DM train crapshow was a real "good riddance" moment but I find it difficult to see how the stickers and notification were a significant problem.

Come on, Null, give us a chance to prove to you we are not THAT retarded. To the morons that cant handle it, just tell them to F off and switch that shit off manually, the option is there. We could have started it with a post detailing that and leave us all with a warning. The community does listen to you, at least the part that does matter, so its a win win, right?

As a leader, sometimes you have to make concessions to your retarded public. Just give it to 'em, for the good of the order.

This started because I received feedback from multiple users that they prefer to post in fucking retarded DM chains specifically because they don't want negative feedback on their posts. They have been discouraged from using this webforum as a forum because they do not feel safe to post as a result of these incessant notifications and looming persistent scorecard ratings. That is FUCKING STUPID. That means the site is broken and is fundamentally failing to encourage people to use it. It means that the reaction system, which exists to provide feedback on individual posts, is having a chilling effect on the entire site.
What you're going to end up doing is prioritizing the quantity of posts at this rate. Here's a good question to ask: how many times have you seen SJW forums and troon sites prioritize the creation of a safe space? How many times have you criticized that? When you cater to those who are too sensitive to share their thoughts because they don't want to get negative reactions, you're creating a safe space for them. The Farms doesn't need a safe space for anyone. If anything, it was meant to ridicule those who want a safe space.

Part of what makes a forum a forum is the willingness of users to state controversial opinions. Anyone who comes to a forum and then bitches about how they can't stand people disagreeing with them, they shouldn't be here because they're a pussy. Not everyone should be encouraged to use the site because not everyone wants to be a good user.

The vast majority of people taking the time to share their thoughts on this issue are saying that the site wasn't broken to begin with.

I tend to say yes, because while it does encourage karma farming, it is faster to go to notifications. I don't prefer to mark 'watching' on threads I don't really engage often. Also it is good to go after a few days of inactivity.

Also there should be a tag that shows if the user has a bad like/dislike ratio.

Here's something I'm wondering about. Right now there's about ~1300 active users on the site. The site is heavily fragmented between various boards and interests, with some people preferring chat to the forum, and some people actually only caring about a topical discussion in a given board and nothing more.

If we look at it on the greater scale, how many users out of the common active user pool incessantly bitch about the sticker changes? Is it an actual majority of the site that feels impacted by those changes? Or is it a small subset of those users that's mad because something they got used to got radically changed? How will it actually affect the site's metrics in the long run?

The week-month waiting period of seeing what happens is a good idea. That will show just how many users in total cared about the stickers so much they literally cannot use the site without them. With time, they'll stop bitching about it and adjust just like they did to every major change on the forum up to this point, and there'll be less and less of them.

Right now it's been ~2 days since the change was put in place, and people are still mad and spamming about it. Any actual critique to the current changes, like what to do with the Watched threads segment to have it both usable and not cumbersome for everyone, will be drowned out by screeching that just has to pass. And only then any proper critiques and adjustments can be rolled in once all the screeching tones down.

Personally, I like that I don't have to see that stupid fucking reaction score number every time I go to the front page because I'm autistic and it was driving me nuts whenever it wasn't aligned with the post count, so I'm happy with the change. I'm not too happy about the current state of the Watched threads segment, which is good, but needs improvements, but now is not the time to say or suggest anything about it.

And I had the sticker notifications disabled for years so I don't care about those, they were annoying and drowning out actual notifications.

I didn't realize "legal fund" meant "I am never permitted to modify the forum ever again". Last I checked, the site is still permitting dumbass opinions completely unmitigated, and you can even click the stupid ass fucking buttons that apparently make up your entire sense of self-worth.

The honest mental gymnastics I'm seeing to defend a function that does nothing fills me with contempt.
Aww, someone got upset by my joke. Poor little guy missed my social cues.

I member when we used to mock people who took stickers seriously and had notifications enabled for them. It seems now they are the majority, how this this happen??
I am not that bothered about the removal of sticker features. But I disagree with the decision and I believe has uses.
Are there so much people that take bad ratings seriously? I have dumb posts but I assume that I have unpopular/shitty takes and I am somewhat better than trainwreck users.
