Posting at least a little relevant info or at least watching what is topical and giving relevant feedback instead of sharing your feelings or opinions in a way that clutters the thread. Much of the time there's not even an attempt to be actually funny or creative. Threads would be better if this narcissistic behavior was culled or at least kept out of on-topic lolcow boards.

You're misunderstanding. Sticker farming isn't high effort, it's low effort spam. Here's an example:

I could spend 20-30 minutes making a giga effort post with spoilers and images and everything archived and wow, 50 reactions - amazing.
In that 30 minutes I could also make 10 low effort posts like "keffals is fat and has man tits" AKA "lolcow bad and cringe" and farm 100 reactions.

The latter is farming, the former is being a good contributor. The problem isn't that people are amassing reactions, it's that it rewards people for flinging shit at the wall.

This is exactly it. People just spam low effort jokes to get reactions and it shits up threads. That's why people hate it when their cow gets featured or is in community happenings.

Another part of the problem is it encourages people to keep posting in threads even when nothing particularly interesting is happening with the cow like a common complaint in the rekieta thread is how gay it gets when he doesn't stream for a few days and it's because people can't just ignore a thread for a few days and then come back to it because they don't even check their watched thread list they rely on sticker notifications and if they aren't getting any stickers then how could they possibly know the thread is moving? And they need that constant influx of entertainment from their favorite cow because their brains are broken.

This goes back to what Null said about people using forums like Twitter. Forums weren't designed with stickers in mind, and this change isn't an issue if you use a forum as a forum.

A lot of forums didn't have any sort of sticker system and people had to express their opinions about other posts with words, and all forum software was always designed with features that help the user to follow the content he likes.

But this forum does. And the stickers were originally introduced to stop people from shitting up threads by just saying "I agree" over and over.

There are many ways to keep up with threads and engagement of your posts, that ability isn't taken away from you, and it takes minimal effort to adjust to this change.

But they are all retarded. The solutions are objectively clunkier and shittier than what we had before, and no one who had the braincells to turn off ratings notifications was complaining about what we had before. It's dumb to have to adjust to a change that wasn't needed, and most people are not going to manually check their sticker ratings every 5 minutes to see if it changes because that is incredibly autistic, they're just going to forget it exists. Maybe you think this is a good thing, and maybe it is, but people need to stop saying to just "GO THROUGH THE MENUS BRO IT'S RIGHT THERE", when this whole thing is about removing stickers as much as possible. Why insist that people go out of their way to specifically see them? People want to be quickly notified if a post of theirs got traction, they don't want to check on a whole other section of the site on the off chance that maybe a post got traction.

But time and time again you reject every solution to the "sticker notifs as discussion following" issue and you insist on bringing the sticker notifications back.

They're not if you have the two braincells needed to adapt to alternative options. You can watch threads and get notified whenever someone posts in them. You can get notified when someone replies to you. If you want to keep track of your stickers it's two clicks away, and it's meant to incentivize using all the other forms of following threads, which are designed with forums in mind, to focus on the content of the messages and not the minimal feedback under them.

Again, he can still view those in a list. He can show all the recent MATI stickers and know who was giving him MATI stickers. His ability to know if the posts he makes are dumb or not has not been taken away from him, it has been only mildly inconvenienced to incentivize a bigger focus on posts themselves.

You all either have the lack of the basic human ability of adaptation even if someone gives you solutions on a silver platter, or you're blatantly lying to make Null bring back your dopamine hits.
