more proof none of you brainrotted updoot retards can follow a conversation.
Fuck convenience and fuck not sitting down for hours to read every page of a thread that you're only passably interested in I guess?

highlights will function just fine and probably better without sticker farmers gunning for headpats. it's already relative; less bullshit means more focus on worthwhile posts
Not really. If every post only has like <5 reactions, that just means more random shit is going to get highlighted, not less.

Yeah I'm sure telling people why they're using something is somehow going to make you not look retarded.
Speaking of:
But at least they don't think it's somehow about a "dopamine rush."
For now at least.
Called it. Dumbfuck.
This is the part where you try to use humor to not look like a retard btw.

Why is jersh taking away my only source of dopamine on KF?? Is he retarded?

I know, completely ruins the site because you don't get instantaneous gratification.
It's a little silly when it was already under the profile pic to begin with. It doesn't bother me that much but it does feel like a really weird thing to change

sticker farmers gunning for headpats.
This argument genuinely confuses me. Maybe because KF is the only "social media" I use but I fail to understand the concept of "sticker farming" or "Reddit karma farming".

To me the concept of sticker farming reads as "People will attempt to make posts that maximize value and enjoyment for the reader". I fail to see how this is a bad thing, even for the extreme minority of retards that care about the imaginary points.

Call me retarded, but while doing so please explain how a minority of people attempting to post exclusively "high-value" posts is a negative thing for the website.

As for retarded shit like this, if you faggots can't understand that unnecessarily adding steps isn't a net positive then I don't know what to tell you. It's not the end of the world, and nobody is saying it is, we are just saying it's objectively bad design and an unnecessary step backwards.

Tell you what, every time you go to post I want you to delete everything you typed and then retype it manually before hitting save. It's just one extra step, all you have to do is type it again and it takes like 10 seconds. What are you, a dopamine retard addicted to instantaneous gratification?

I don't really even see the point of stickers without notifications. The whole utility was knowing if you said something retarded or not. I'm not going to backtrack to see if I got rated Autistic. And if I rate someone and they don't see it, there's also no point. And if you don't get a tally of your updoot and downboats there's even less point. Pointless system now, simple as.

Kill stickers

Kill trophies

Kill replies

It wasn't always under the username, IIRC it was added somewhere around when Lowtax died or when the forum turned into SA for April Fools, because SA had it. Now it's just back to how it used to be.

This goes back to what Null said about people using forums like Twitter. Forums weren't designed with stickers in mind, and this change isn't an issue if you use a forum as a forum.

A lot of forums didn't have any sort of sticker system and people had to express their opinions about other posts with words, and all forum software was always designed with features that help the user to follow the content he likes.

There are many ways to keep up with threads and engagement of your posts, that ability isn't taken away from you, and it takes minimal effort to adjust to this change. But time and time again you reject every solution to the "sticker notifs as discussion following" issue and you insist on bringing the sticker notifications back.

Almost as if your main issue has always been that you treated sticker notifs as dopamine hits but you know damn well that's why Null got rid of them so you have to make up lies to convince him to bring those back.

I was going to ask that as well. I don't know how farming ratings would work on KF. I know on Reddit they just repost wholesome 100 images on popular subreddits, and sometimes they even use bots to copy replies from other people in a thread. I think this is done because there are a lot of subreddits that require a certain amount of Karma to post, and apparently there's a market for these high karma accounts, but KF is a completely different beast. If someone is thinking about how to get the most stickers, well how do you get tons of stickers? By posting something that's actually original, funny, informative, etc. At that point whatever you get from the harvest is well earned, imo.

I guess maybe there's people that just spout the most popular opinions over and over in certain threads, even if they don't actually have that opinion, just for the sole purpose of getting "agree" and "winner" stickers, but who the hell is doing that?

You're misunderstanding. Sticker farming isn't high effort, it's low effort spam. Here's an example:

I could spend 20-30 minutes making a giga effort post with spoilers and images and everything archived and wow, 50 reactions - amazing.
In that 30 minutes I could also make 10 low effort posts like "keffals is fat and has man tits" AKA "lolcow bad and cringe" and farm 100 reactions.

The latter is farming, the former is being a good contributor. The problem isn't that people are amassing reactions, it's that it rewards people for flinging shit at the wall.

It forces users to be better and prioritize things that matter to the community more than their continuous stream of notifications. Plenty of people ITT have mentioned seeing a bunch of reaction notifications makes them feel good. That becomes the incentive, rather than being a good, contributing poster. Low impulse control dopamine seeking doesn't make for a good forum. Many people lurk without posting, many without accounts. This change is an objective improvement for them.
What even constitutes a good, contributing poster? We discuss z-list ecelebs, weirdos, world events, happenings and a bunch of off-topic shit. Writing how gay the recent [lolcow name here] stream was, or how this-or-that happening should earn everyone a bullet in Minecraft is a perfectly valid post even if it doesn't bring anything substantial to the table, at that point we might as well just run a Lolcow Wikipedia. I agree that people should post because they want to post, even if it's just ther shallow opinion or observation, not because they're looking to farm stickers, but people who want to farm attention will find a way to farm that attention anyway, not even anonymous imageboards can run away from that.

This is exactly it. People just spam low effort jokes to get reactions and it shits up threads. That's why people hate it when their cow gets featured or is in community happenings.
