Wow! Intially I also thought it was mostly some anti SJW conspiracy, but once someone much more respectable like SOG Mutahar covered it, I realized how bad it is.


With that said, here's my cup of tea on the whole politically correct stuff; IMHO it's less conspiracy and more incompetence/ignorance.

First of all, the shekels are not controlled by Jews, but by boomers. And well, the boomers grew up in an era where younger generations were being catered to the most, marketing wise. Now, those boomers are now trying to appeal to the younger generations of today, but do so in a "how do you do, fellow kids?" meme kind of way. They go like "Oh, the kids today like the progressive thing, so no to racism, inclusiveness of minorities, acceptance of LGBTV and feminism. I'm sure this is what they'll like!".

Here's some games that I believe did inclusiveness right:

-Metroid series (Samus), Final Fantasy 6 (Celes, Terra), Final Fantasy 7 (Tifa, Barrett), Final Fantasy 10 (Lulu and Wakka), GTA San Andreas (CJ, Sweet and the gang pretty much) and Final Fantasy 13 (Lightning). There's probably many others too.

Then again, most of these are Japanese games, so perhaps Sweet Baby Inc. is mostly referring to western devs? But there's still GTA SA, which is very much a beloved game in the series and the best selling PS2 game, and it definitely more than fills the POC quota, and it fills it with additional quality in form of memorable characters.

SOG did a very good and quality cover of the whole situation and some rational non conspiracy backstory behind it, much better than what neckbeard anti SJW Leafy from aliexpress channels did.

It's not 1 for 1 but that is the essence, "how do you alter democracy to oppose communism?". It's taking fascistic ideas and grafting them onto American democracy (historically the ideology that opposes communism domestically is fascism). It's been a long time since I read it but IIRC the society is highly militaristic (I would argue their society cannot even exist without an enemy), centralized, propagandized. It's shown that Rico doesn't need to join the military but feels deeply compelled to anyway because indoctrinating the youth is paramount. Half the book is lectures from that one armed veteran guy.

I think the similarities are not strong enough to count as rip-off. I would rather count it as the writers were inspired and I think at least one of them watched it or must have read the plot or something. Looking at the Nadia story in-depth, I don't think Atlantis overlaps so much that it can be seen as rip-off. Otherwise Milo would be a rip-off of Daniel from Stargate and I strongly disagree on that.

Apologies for kind of repeating myself but I just because I saw this was featured and know a bunch of eyes will be on this thread.
I don't expect many will read the shit before the featured post so I wanted to reiterate my unimportant and faggy feels; I've been keeping up and the more I read I really do feel this was an SJW extortion ring, and personally I feel it unfair to involve the smaller companies who were probably strongarmed into it to be punished.

It could be because I love indie games, or because I'm a retarded Canadian who likes to see what crazy crap we can produce, but I don't think review bombing or doxxing the smaller studios will achieve anything or even punish the right people.

Just something I hope people could keep in mind if they decide to take action. Or you can disagree and bomb this post with trashcans and autism, I'm okay with that too.
