I think half of the issue could have been resolved by removing rating notifications for A&H, Mass Debates, the wo/men-hate threads, and any off-topic board. Those boards are the worst when it comes to reaction raging. The reactions on those boards are ultimately useless since they exist solely for shitposting.

I think the wo/men hate thread issues would of been solved if they were private chats. It could be a thing where you sign up you pick boy or girl (you know why it stops there) and then it would opt you into unlocking that board. I think just seeing it pop up on the main page drives people to interact with it. But one issue at a time.

On a forum which is dedicated to laughing at people and calling them names. And where everyone regularly sneers at Twitter for banning users for misgendering trannies, or YouTube for hiding dislikes, and so on. Not that we all think the same about everything but come the fuck on.

And the solution, equally wild, has been to suspend hundreds of people from giving out mean stickers, rather than block the complainer from seeing them. And to now delete a mildly useful shortcut and feedback feature that 70% of the site seems to have liked, on the pretext of protecting that same group.

Null has my sympathies to some extent dealing with this, but yeah this holiday is possibly overdue.

Even recently on the Rekieta thread there was a subtle, yet silent, war going on between two users who kept MATI each other the moment the post went live. It was petty and humorous. Luckily that will still happen provided people don't reduce interaction with the feature.

There sure is, but that isn't enough for some of these fine people. Neither is the ability to leave a chat without being able to be reinvited with a couple clicks, or block somebody if you don't enjoy their interactions.

I feel like too it could of easily been solved if when you initially got the invite in that window you have a accept/decline button. I don’t want to turn off DMs entirely I just don’t want to have to scrolling down the veitnam memorial wall of people who were invited. But I do have sympathy for you there.
