I would be if it was real life, but Elden Ring is a video game. And tbh I'm very happy that the player can even choose a female PC (and doesn't penalize you for doing so) in Elden Ring; pre-Gamergate, that was a rare feature and it usually caused guys like you to seethe about it not being "realistic" (again, in a video game.)
I must disagree. Let's look at some examples from history; the list is very incomplete, I'll only list ones I played.
1. Laura Bow series - female protagonist.
2. King's Quest IV - female protagonist.
3. Leisure Suit Larry V - you alternate between male and female protagonist.
4. Alone in the Dark - you can pick between male and female protagonist.
5. Metroid - female protagonist.
6. Silent Hill 3 - female protagonist.
7. All Infinity Engine RPGs aside from Planescape - you can pick gender.
8. All Fallouts, starting from 1997 - you can pick gender,
9. All post-Infinity RPGs (KotORs, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Arcanum, VtM: Bloodlines) - you can pick gender.
10. Jedi Academy - you can pick gender.
11. Resident Evil 1 and 2 - male and female protagonist to choose.
12. Gabriel Knight 2 and 3 - you alternate between male and female protagonist.
It would be a waste of time to list every obscure game in which you can play as a woman - so I picked the more well-known ones - but as you can see it wasn't uncommon and all those games were loved and are cherished to this day.
