Truth of it is, Sweet Baby Inc isnt too important or unique in western media. Of course they're despicable faggots who hate me and mine and everything they believe in is gay and lame. It's all so much deeper than them though. This cultural rot is in the marrow of the games and media industry, and everywhere else.
Still I'll be happy if sweet baby inc detected expands to add generally dei'd games so I could use that as a metric instead of binging "is x game woke?". Hopefully the suits who run these failing industries will recognize two things: this shit hurts their bottom line and journalists' are subhuman and irrelevant, so ignore them forever about everything.
Been overlooking another issue I'm interested in too and that is abuse in the Australian Military. There is a lot of it, male on female, male on male, female on female, it really is bad. It is being uncovered partially in an investigation called a Royal Commission into Veteran suicide. Funnily enough, the same behavior is going on, the denial, the attacking of people speaking up (whether they be military, relatives or people investigating). It is a lot deeper than people realize and involves prominent people with a lot to lose. The reason being that the command and the politicians, for both professional and personal reasons, are fucking terrified the dam is going to break. Once the truth gets out their it is going to cost a lot of money and it is going to destroy people's lives and careers (justifiably so). Once that dam breaks a lot of people invested in the current Status Quo are going to lose a lot, and as a result they over react to any potential little crack and it gets jumped on and over reacted on.
Something similar is what is happening here. I am not so sure it is as dark as the Australian Military thing nor are the people as competent when it comes to keeping the dam from bursting, but I do believe a lot more money is at stake. The over reaction is because these people are currently in power in the industry and benefiting from the current status quo and therefore they are terrified of the bursting dam and the change that makes them irrelevent (for both personal and political reasons). A Brazilian doing a steam page pointing things out concerning a small company that is doing what every other consultancy and media company do (and the ongoing relationship with corporations), well that is a potential crack and you need to close the crack by any means necessary or else the dam will burst. These people are well aware they're into, and have done a lot of, skeevy shit to get and maintain the positions they currently hold. They also know that if who they are and what they do gets put out into the public domain, they're not only no longer relevant, they're forever bottom of the pile.
The one thing I've learned about this type of thing, nobody can hold on forever. Your dam is going to burst one way or another, it may even take a couple of generations, but it is going to happen. It is however interesting and fun to watch this happen time and time again with different people and different organizations, taking bets as to if this time it's going to happen.
