I'm genuinely not sure if i'm supposed to take this even remotely seriously. Gatekeeping (apart from actual sex criminals, of course) has literally never worked. Many times, the Right has tried these purity tests, you can't sit with us, kind of nonsense. What does the left do? They scoop those people up, give them a dose of woke insanity, and let them do whatever they want as long as they vote the right way. You need every last person on a project like this for it to have even a remote chance of working.

This actually has nothing to do with any of that, it's that its hard enough to get people on board against DEI in the first place that the decision on who to reject should be as low as it makes any sense to be, which in my mind is criminals. I've been in these "chud" movements before, where someone at the top decides someone is too weird to be part of the group. What does this do? The other side scoops them up. Now, would the other side have won anyway regardless? It's possible, of course, but since we're already the worst of the worst, we don't actually have any optics to worry about.

Problem is a lot of games that are woke or have odd writing actually have good gameplay. I saw God Of War Ragnarok mentioned, and that shit was still incredibly fun even if the writing was cringey. Same with the new Spider-Man games. I just tune it out and enjoy the gameplay.

There are of course countless AAA that are good. But more often than not from older generations. The modern stuff is often unfortunately diluted by countless bad decisions. When I tried to play the GoW reboot from 2018 it was like some kind of embarrassing video game rap that some highschool kid wrote. Fast travel, exp, skill points, crafting, quests, QTE, difficulty options, difficulty = sponge enemies, "funny writing", squeeze through tight gaps to mask the loading and so on. Half of those systems and mechanics are unnecessary and are just there to broaden the appeal, so the publisher can break even. It's the worst kind of kitchen sink approach.
