Should sticker notifications be brought back?

It's optimal that you responded, because I can respond back: I'm not suggesting others aren't like you. I'm rather sympathetic to your attempts to gain keen insight through connections to others. I'm only suggesting that not ALL are like you. We can persevere together, because stickers aren't the only way to interact on this website.
Take your Haldol nigga.
It's the 4chan model. Where there are no downsides to spamming posts, and the only quantifying thing to "win" is replies.
People will find a way or another to farm "dopamine" hits or whatever autism has been cooked up. 4chan/8chan had "you"'s. My staircase witted brain slowly comes to the realization this has been very dumb, nonsensical, and inconvenient.

That's over-exaggerating these little interactions, just a wee bit. I responded with an opinion that was apparently not to your liking. This in itself is fine. Except, you're now mad you can't "punish" others with invisible karma points and so now are ranting into the ether that "how dare you write something out rather than just sticker my post and disappear!"... into a public forum meant to contain such writings... it's somehow Null's fault you didn't just hit Ignore if you thought I had some bad intentions against you.

Anyway, I will leave the thread be. I will watch my usages of "royal we" in the future, so thank you for that lesson.

Sounds like you are making an argument for the utility of sticker notifications...

this is SO much better than him just negrating you and moving on. What a massive improvement to site dialogue this is.

I don't mind being a shitposter spamming and being agro to people, but the previous system kept people like me in line, and made threads infinitely easier to read.

Look at any thread filled with people who were too autistic to care about negrates and see what an unreadable mess it devolves into. The "unpopular opinions about video games" thread comes to mind for me.

I've been using the Watch feature and it sucks. It is less effective than sticker notifications were and clutters my front page.
Here’s what I use: the menu button in the top left -> forums -> threads with your posts.

This is two clicks but it gives you a list of threads you’ve participated in, with the most recent at the top.
So you can at least see what the current conversations are.

The “profile -> reactions received” button is there too, which is OK for catching up but just not as convenient, and is not just showing you the latest.

It’s more effort. I will lurk more, probably. Maybe that is the desired outcome.

That comment isn't directed at you personally. The root problem is that a subset of people can't handle the fact that someone somewhere doesn't agree with their point of view. Whether that be expressed through comments or stickers is irrelevant. As long as people can interact, this will be a problem. So this entire exercise is a predictable waste of time and userbase goodwill.

Just to be clear, we are talking about Imperator filling every thread with walls of autistic lore bullshit that fucks up the thread for three pages straight every time he does it, right?

I've been hit a few times with some moderation on site, followed with some nasty comments by a mod (presumably Null), for pretty inane and unwritten rules.
The aggressive behavior might be his schtick but it leaves a bad taste when the decisions are questionable at best and all feedback might as well go straight to /dev/null

Nearly a month ago a change was made in Sneedchat and the way that was handled was similarly ridiculous to this, it just affected far fewer users so flew under the radar. Basically there's a feature where you can embed images from any URL using the img bbcode tags. A user who has Null's ear due to being the farms network janny on the side had a bit of a schizo moment and sperged about the possibility of someone grabbing IP addresses using this feature.

It's a problem that has existed since Sneedchat was first released but now suddenly gets attention. Null announces in General chat that there's a new change preventing users from hotlinking images from anywhere other than the forum, postimg and catbox. If you weren't there to see the announcement: too bad! It was never announced anywhere on the forum and the way the block was implemented, it just showed a broken image so users thought they made a mistake when linking the image.

I'll be honest, this pissed me off a lot. The way the change was made was beyond belief lazy, the whitelisted image hosters suck and what annoyed me the most: there was no communication whatsoever outside of that one announcement in Sneedchat. I made an angry post in the Sneedchat thread and then went to hang out in Sneedchat while watching Bossman lose it all for the 1000th time.

At least half a dozen users gradually encountered the issue over the next few hours. I explain to them what a CSP is, what has changed, the why and how to workaround it. Y'know, shit that should be in a front page stickied announcement somewhere. I was still seething but nothing an experienced forum janny can't handle. I'm really disappointed in myself that I didn't screenshot what happened next.

Suddenly a wild :null: appears! Literally yelling in all caps for me to shut up, spamming as fast as he can WHO ALLOWS ANONYMOUS IMAGE HOSTING THAT WORKS WITH TOR. I jokingly reply "me" as I don't block Tor IPs for my personal image host and he ignores it, keeps screeching then throws pet network janny under the bus for wanting the change and disappears.

Soon after that the policy did get slightly relaxed to allow imgbb. The CSP also broke a bunch of emojis and it took an insanely long time for that to get fixed. That whole event was incredibly demoralizing, I don't understand why you would treat a user like this. One consolation from this drama is I've learned I'm not special, he does this to basically everyone who isn't a full time ballwasher.

So many lessons not learned, mistakes repeated that will constantly get repeated as the introspection is nil. This site has so many great users and it's the only reason I didn't pack my bags and leave after that, though I've basically stopped contributing.

Hot take: there's nothing wrong with feeling good or bad about the feedback you get, even if it's just little pictures on the forum. You know, it's just the way our brain work.
It's bad if someone values online stickers more highly than live interactions and wants to kill themselves over getting an "Autistic" reaction to a post. But that's not a problem with the functionality itself; it's a problem with specific people, and they'll find a way to be upset anyway until they're completely isolated from humanity.
I thought most people here were self-aware enough to use the negative feedback in a positive way for self-development rather than self-reproach, but since we have to accept such changes, it seems that's not the case.

P.S. if we care so much about feelings now, when will the pink triangles be removed?

I want it the opposite way actually, there will be different classifications depending on how you interact with the site. People who are null dick suckers get null love icons. People who are furs get the special furry icon etc.

Say what you will about @Hollywood Hulk Hogan , but I've never seen him run crying to staff. He knows his posts piss people off and accepts the "consequences" of that. In fact, didn't people flee into another big gay DM years ago because they couldn't handle Hulkamania running wild on them? The DMers evidently haven't been saying their prayers and eating their vitamins, BROTHER.

Hence DM chains. Been in a few, and they've been for shitposting, pure and simple, without worrying about shitting up whatever thread you're riffing off/shitting on. Even in there, there's been a fuckton of "you're doing it wrong" recently. Something in the air, I guess.

Advantages of Kiwikarma

I am a self-admitted faggot that liked the goodboy points. I found it generally led to me not spamming posts, aiming to only making quality posts, avoiding arguments, all due to the reinforcement of the points.

Karma-whoring for me as a karma-loving autistic faggot also made me reconsider posting if you have nothing to contribute to the discussion. If I don't need to say anything new, why should I post when I can just use an :agree: instead? And if I do have to say something, I make it informative and high quality for everyone to understand or enjoy so that they learn something new.

Feeling Safe

Because it is vitally important to the health of the site that gay furry roleplayers feel safe enough to ERP in public threads, without fear of negative stickers being applied to their account. I am not making this up.
Regarding why Null for some reason cares about negrates being tOxIc and harm the seLf-bEIng, I do have a conspiracy theory. There was one particular user that I remember while lurking before I joined the Farms named @Cosmos who I felt was a stellar contributor and oldfag to the Farms, especially the Salon board. From what I've heard from members of the Woman-Hate Thread (amazing non-biased source wow), as a liberal, she of course did not get along with the more right-wing kiwis of the board of you guess it, Articles and Happenings (A+H / Articles + News / A+N / Articles + Niggers). Ultimately the toxicity that she felt from the negrates and responses to her posts in the board pretty much scared her off the site.

I don't believe Cosmos is the only one that left the site due to this, and sure, you can make the argument that they could have not just posted in Articles + Niggerings and have a thicker skull as should all Kiwis should, but I think people can over-estimate the mentality of users back then. Since Null idolizes the old times of the CWCkiForums, having him see users like Cosmos leave because of the negrates of which is relating to the cesspool that is A+N (as a Happening nigger, I would know, Russia+Ukraine threads were toxic as hell before Null decided to segregate to pro-Russian and pro-Ukrainian threads) probably reinforced his belief to start protecting users, especially those who are big contributors, from leaving with the blame given on the negrates, and that is how we got here.

That is my two cents, and I know it is probably 200% wrong, but it's a theory.

Please No Downfall Arc

This event has solidified for me that Null's ODD diagnosis is real. I always had respect for the man and still do, but he had a genuine meltdown because of his stubbornness. A great trait when going against moral crusades, but a bad one when people who care are trying to course correct him.
  • Early November 2023 - Null argues with Kiwis on America having real cheese. I believe nobody got banned, and I presume the thread would be a fun shit-flinging autistic contest. Apparently, he was angry because the same people were bringing up the same points on American cheese and closed the thread and kept his opinion on America not having real cheese till this day.
  • Late November 2023 - Null banned users @Matt Damon and @polonium (latter joined OnionFarms) in the Woman-Hate Thread because he got in a really bad argument with them. @Johan Schmidt, who was barely even a woman hater, also got banned, because he made a beer joke off of Null's expense.
  • Early December 2023 - Null gets into a massive hostile argument with the Farms on the hbomberguy-Internet Historian Plagiarism debacle. @Mango Cobra gets banned by Null for being his most prominent critic in the thread and the fact that he brings up Null's hostile arguments in the Woman-Hate Thread. Null remains convinced that Internet Historian is still in the wrong against what the majority believes.
  • February 2024 - Null removes posting images in Sneedchat with no announcement given and screeched at users. (So that is why images stopped working in chat after some hiatus from using it. I thought it was my computer for a second.)
  • Early March 2024 - the sticker debacle. Null is solidly on the ground that sticker notifications should and would not come back despite 72% of the site wanting it back.
I hope to God this isn't some downfall arc because I really want to see Null obliterate troons and crush Greer into debt.
