There was a guy making something similar, but it never really went anywhere... I suspect if he had started in the last 10 years he probably could have make it work with modern technologies.

The thing that the general public doesn't think about is that it's an airplane. Slightly clip a curb or someone opens their car door into you, or a rock gets flung off the road into the propeller and you're going to need it checked out before you fly again. Also, like many things that serve dual roles they tend to be shitty at both.

Alrighty, here is my prediction. This is not what I want to happen, but we live in Clown World so this is what I am putting my figurative money on.
Okay, that's my prediction for the next 4 years or so.
1) Joe Biden wins by a small amount. There is another "where did you randomly get those 4k votes in that important county right before the polls closed" debacle, but even without counting that, he wins by a small amount.
2) Joe Biden immediately fucking dies due to natural causes, or other old person death like simply tripping in the shower. The government handles it extremely poorly and social media/chan boards/some random government/medical person's twitter account spread the news of the president being dead before any sort of official statement goes out. For maximum insanity, this happens while Biden is in another country for some reason, and the foreign media is reporting on Biden being dead before the US media is knows what to do because their handlers have not fed them any lines yet.
3) Some horrible diversity pick VP, maybe Kamala but probably not, becomes president. There is initially a shitton of fanfare for the first president of whatever diverse status, but quickly both sides decide they absolutely hate this garbage person, and other countries openly mock the US.
4) The diversity pick president is fed-op'd and killed, causing maximum insanity as people try to call it a hate crime and a right-wing perp, despite the details coming out that it was either 1) an actual total schizo with no apparent political ties either way or 2) a total leftie who actually hated the president for not being totally communist/leftwig enough.
5) The next guy to become the president is a total "Silent Cal" type who does not want to be seen, heard from, or known for anything. He is completely run by unseen handlers, who use this opportunity to enact various laws that drive down the quality of life for the average person, that you'd think both sides would hate, but somehow the media decides that they're just going to sit this one out and let it ride until the next election year comes up-
6) by which point Trump will have had a stroke or some shit and not run, but Trump will have a little darling candidate he endorses, but his people won't unite enough over it, and a shitty random democrat wins again.

For you #5, I think the media will continue to play ball with the DNC and gaslight the country. Or they'll be against them. Since money talks and bullshit walks.
I still think Trump is gonna win. The steal won't happen since the margins will be too large to make believable. Most of Agenda 47 won't happen. Some might start but a few will make it off the ground. Obviously US energy independence and border security will be completed. The tariffs with China will happen too. The economy will crash either in the run up to the election in the fall or a death by a thousand cuts under trump.

I really suspect that they knew when Clinton opened the doors(and kind of pushed banks into)subprime lending the goal was always to tank the economy, blame it on the next guy, and run someone who would have very progressive policies that would never allow the economy to recover. Any recovery would be hindered by pushing outsourcing and foreign labor. It would be crushed by raising taxes and creating restrictive regulation.
I believe that Covid was always part of the plan. It was probably supposed to roll out under Clinton and be used to turn over US autonomy to the UN and WHO as much as possible. Trump threw a major wrench in that so here we are in the middle.
It is really the only explanation for how things have progressed. You could not accidentally fuck up as profoundly as the US government has over the last twenty-five years.
