Personally, I've never believed that "transitioning saves lives", even back when I aligned myself with progressive movements and supported transgender people outwardly. I guess common sense just shone through.

Other people here can probably be more insightful than I am about this, but I believe that without telling children that they should feel a certain way, they wouldn't threaten suicide over not being able to transition. It's very obvious that this doesn't happen in a vacuum, and is in a big way anchored to the internet and malicious (even if unintentionally) parents coddling their children. It's no secret what happens on these big Discord servers. I see them enabling this kind of behavior in very young children, like playing into the "femboy" idea and labeling them as eggs. Sure it might start out as a joke, but once a child crosses that line, they'll think this to be normal, especially when they receive attention for it. God, the attention, some people do just about anything for it, and they receive a lot of it too.

I've gotten a lot of rainbows for saying this, but things do seem different this year. I definitely feel like the climates of online discourse and public opinion are shifting to one of uncertainty for the people that have dominated the spotlight for the past decade. All it takes is for some major outlet to mention the WPATH Files. Anyone.
