Formula 1 Discussion - And favourite driver?

No one knows how to put you off a driver quicker than Crofty does. Yeah it's his first go but he underperformed the car and I have no idea how he got driver of the day.
i think you guys are being a bit overly harsh. first race sure and he should have done better during his stint on softs but still, what could you reasonably expect from him?

didn't help that max was max and there was no real competition in the first 5-6 places after the safety car. only real interesting thing was piastri trying to get past hamilton and afterwards, hamilton trying to get past norris. was a very boring race otherwise.

He got driver of the day because the broadcast would not shut up about him. Ollie obviously has a future in F1 (or maybe not, as we've seen with Pourchaire), but if Sky turns him into the next LEWIS HAMILTON IS NOW IN 5TH PLACE, THIS IS AMAZING, I'll start hating.

It is funny how Sky creams themselves over Hambone and George and sometimes Lando, but they ignore Albon all the time.

I don't know who called the overcut for Pewis and the zoomer, but whoever it was should be demoted. It obviously didn't work.

Looking up for Haas in general after this race. Sauber is retarded, Alpine runs an unreliable tractor, and VCARB never has enough race pace. Bearman doing well gives them options for next year. McLaren must have the shittiest DRS on the grid, painful watching Piastri have little gain with it lap after lap going into the first turn. I think Zhou has a very good chance to sneak a point or two soon as long as Sauber can pit properly.

Apparently Max was still on iRacing at 4AM before this. I love how much of a racing autist he is, he'd fit right in here.

God that McLaren looks slow on the straights. And in slow corners. Seems like they built another Silverstone car.
Like Dale Jr. almost missing practice, but not letting it get in the way of his career. I'd actually like to see Max get on his show and just fuckin' talk iRacing.

Bearman looked like he was really wringing out his Ferrari on his final run around the circuit. I wondered whether he was going for fastest lap.

KMag had one of the greatest nuisance performances of all time today and he'll still end up getting fired for some 19 year old from Essex.

Riveting defensive driving from KMag, once he was done holding these drivers off he created a sizable gap within one and a half laps so it shows he still had some pace left.

However it does show a precedent that drivers should no longer get only time penalties but also forced to give back positions. Albon's race was nearly ended when KMag squeezed him into the wall and lost that front wing.

I was impressed with Bearman, he hasn't had hardly any time in the car and in his first outing acquitted himself quite well. As others have said, I hope the commentators don't suck his dick like they have done with Hamilton and make it impossible to cheer for the guy.

The Ricciardio Comeback hopes must just about be dead and buried now and I still can't get over how the Jnr Redbull team have designed such a shit car.

I hope McLaren gets an update before too long that gives them more top end.

It is still too early to tell, but this is the second race in a row where Osama Bin Russell has outdone Hamilton, and it may just be as simple as age is taking a greater toll on Hamilton than it has on Alonso(it seems that how well drivers do as they get older, is totally random), but Hamilton's first year at Ferrari could be a disaster and be his only year at Ferrari.

He was lucky he broke his hand last season and had the excuse of being a bit rusty for why he wasn't wrecking Tsunoda in the handfull of races they had.

Someone from that team is losing their seat to Lawson and they know it so all out team mate war.

No way can red bull keep Lawson on the bench for next season. There are so many drivers out of contract and so many teams would love to grab him after last season's performances. They need to gove him a driver or they won't keep him.

Close enough. I'm too lazy to set up a local AI instance to try to get better results.

Can you imagine John Elkann going to Hamilton and say "Sorry Lewis we have decided to not hire you., As compensation here is your agreed upon salary. Too bad it didn't work out" and then goes into the sunset and hands the second Ferrari to Bearman or even better Verstappen while Newey appears in the distance too. Though let's be real': I can't see Verstappen leave Red Bull now, not with him basically crushing the opposition each race. Yes, the Horner kerfuffle is a disturbance but so far the team works like one unit. And who is actually able to threaten them? Mercedes seems to have fallen further back while Mclaren and Ferrari seem to have cemented P3 and P2 respectively. Leclerc can only threaten a bit in Qualifying but race pace wise he isn't there. Good thing is that Ferrari seems to have their tyres now under control. But now they need a bit more. Imagine if Red Bull comes with a zero pod concept in Suzuka and blows everyone out of the water

I wonder if Lewis just doesn't give a fuck cause he's out and odds of a win are low anyway. Not like he should have any loyalty to the team that built him unbeatable cars for almost a decade, of course. George is a cunt but he is wringing that thing's neck, meanwhile Lewis doesn't really sound or look bothered to me.

Amazing how Carlos was back at the track watching the race by the way. His surgeon must've been a... smooth operator.
