Feedback Technical Grievances

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
The Watched Threads list is not displaying all threads I watch.

There should be at least two threads from Mass Debates also on that list. They have been quiet since November and January respectively, if that matters.

When I right click on a watched thread in the box at the top of the home page to open in new tab, it's dropping me on page one rather than where I left off.
Left clicking works as it should.

Dunno if it's something the latest firefox update fucked up or on the site side.

If it is a thread you have already read, it'll take you to the first page. The watched links only bring you to the first post you haven't read.

Which is really obvious when you're looking at the usual forum index, but for whatever fucking reason XenForo by default does not bold threads with new posts in the watched threads lists. Fixed.

I really cannot fucking wait to get back to writing RustForo again.

Edit: The Watched Threads widget and the Watched Threads page now correctly display read/unread status like regular node indexes.

Is it all this Xenforo bullshit keeping you along with the litigations? I would help if I didn't hate Rust, so have a "you can do it!" instead.

EDIT: I just witnessed my watched page go from its Biden Blue links to white links for already read threads.

It's that he has to deal with litigation, keeping the site up, doing the podcast bi-weekly, and on top of that deal with all the retards on the site, so he has no free time to actually sit down and work on it.

Also Sneedchat that he wrote in Rust had a pretty bad XCE exploit so making RuForo will be a major task, because not only will you have to write an entire forum suite from scratch, you'll also have to do pentesting on it to make sure there won't be any major exploits while being a persona non grata. So yeah, it's on the backburner at the very end of the room right now.
Fuck man, a lot on the shoulders. I'd help anyway I could.
AFAIK, the Sneedchat XCE wasn't actually because of the SneedChat, but the XenForo media system. Perhaps I misunderstood the problem when it happened, but to be certain, I'm thinking of the Poast logo situation.

Since this has turned into complaining about UI elements, How about making the unread green dots in the alert popup persistent on desktop. For some reason you have to mouse over them to see them, and the shading isn't always obvious(to me). On mobile they always appear.

How were you able to reply to a forum post from 7 minutes in the future? Is this another technical glitch?

If you go back in your browser history and your browser loads from cache, then the timestamp of your cache will be used to calculate timestamps. If you load in a new post with an old timestamp, it will calculate the timestamp as being in the future. This is another bug that is 10+ years old, and is innate in XenForo.

I'm loving all these bug reports for shit that've been around for aeons that people only seem to care about now that they can assume it's my fault.
