Adding to the fact that games are rushed out of the door on annual basis, this aged quote stands true.@Glowie
Very good post. I have actually talked about making a compilation chart of older games in another thread, and this would be a perfect time for it. You basically summed up how this would work: Focus on older games and ignore the new slop. Think how many older titles could have revived communities and new fan content created for them, newer players deserve to experience these titles just as much as anyone. They just need to be informed about them. This would also deprive the new slop of these players, and most importantly, money, a win-win.
Another good reason for a infographic like this would be to figure out which version of the game is the best one: There is so many re-releases and Director's Cuts and what have you that it can get confusing for newer players. I will have to dig up older charts I found on 4 and 8chan but they will be outdated, something new will have to be made to add newer worthwhile releases as well.
Apathy to Sweet Baby adjacent titles is only half of the fight: The other is directing players to something better, otherwise they will start consooming again out of boredom and the cycle will repeat. This is important to remember. You have to think long term, otherwise we will end up with GG1.0 which was largely directionless after a certain point.
Problem with game development is that it turned into a soulless industry that chase after profit, do not listen to player feedback and take their time with their games.
Late Satoru Iwata saved Gamefreak from financial ruin, prevented pokemon games from dying since Gamefreak couldn't code worth shit. Iwata entered scene, fixed their shit and added two regions in a single cart. Pokemon creator Satoshi Tajiri promised that you could transfer your partner pokemon all the way first gen to modern games was a pipedream, so he broke the promise and being autistic, Satoshi Tajiri said this in 2014

Ironically enough even with pokemon locked behind paid DLC, annual releases with limited dexes pokemon games are buggy messes.
From shit frame rates to physics issue to cancerous competitive metagame that boils down to people using 4 to 6 same Pokemon in every generations, tourney faggotry relies only on RNG, raw stats and guessing.
Now look at Palworld it's the game this autist failed to create and Pokemon company is shit scared of real time pal battles with their trainers, base building, growing pal deck, quality of life improvements and new regions with bosses. Pocketpair delivered what Gamefreak couldn't; something what players wanted. Gamefreak is barely able to get one regions together and shit out 100 gimmicks for you to catch. Oh transferring your old pokemon go current gen? Too bad We are killing off 3DS and poke bank a service people had to pay for. Whatever is in that bank is gone forever. Players wanted to have their first partner to battle by their side, work, train, eat and sleep in between adventures. Oh that perfect IV Metagross you worked so hard to get in Pokemon emerald? It's gone now, buy our new game and pay for multiplayer.
That's just Pokemon company autism
Bandai isn't any better they removed Habu the guy who has been in charge since Digimon World
Digimon is the franchise that no-one cares about, Bandai out sourced to China exclusive gacha pay to win game
Digimon is more or less incapable of growing in the west and placate to balding 30 consoomers, apologies for beforehand for subjecting to this
Bandai is axing old product lines and push out anime that no-one cares about like Run for money that advertise vital bracelet toy line front and center. Bandai did that with ghost game and Digimon seekers.
Digimon story game has been in development hell since 2020 with Habu gone, no-one knows what will happen to Digimon games in the future.
Consume product and get excited for new product.
I could be all here all day talking about horde shooters like Starship troopers, Baldurs Gate 3, RoboCop boomer shooter that deliver players what they want a fun game. Companies fail to realize that gamers want fun games, not souless copy and paste 70 Dollar games with paid battle passes.
Deep Rock galactic offers all that for 40 with seasonal content.
Small studios deliver that Activision Blizzard and others failed to deliver.
Name a genre and you see same happening there as well small teams curb stomping industry titans and former greats like Rockstar and Ubisoft, who in their infinite wisdom force their infinite wisdom made single player games online only and force their shit client on people for example.
