This does not get said enough, but man, I really fucking hate reddit and reddit culture. Trying to make a comment on a sub only for it to get swept up by one of the 500 filters that auto-delete your comments without telling you why forcing you to try and figure it out really makes you wish the site would just burn to the ground already because it is literally designed to breed retards.
Barring the gay filters and restrictions all over the website, I have to reaffirm that Reddit's culture is the worst and it is, unquestionably, a breeding ground for retards. Reddit's modus operandi is to have no subtlety whatsoever, nor nuance, yet front as the most wisened entity on the Internet.
Its users are in a constant battle to correct, outwit, and out-pun one another, so there isn't actual discussion being had. It's instead:

If someone makes comment that is
clearly sarcastic in nature — doesn't even have to be mean spirited — some mouthbreather will be quick to pounce and say "uh, you dropped this /sneed" effectively ruining the joke for everyone reading, and this behavior is endorsed, even seen as hilarious.
In the absence of on-the-nose humor that you'd only find clever if you were literally autistic, the comments are emotionally charged and just as unreadable. Redditors also belong to that group of people who love getting angry over shit. They feign intelligence all day long without having even a shred of emotional intelligence to help them evulate what's worth raising their blood pressure for. You can't go near a political forum or thread without getting radiation poisoning, and you can't enjoy lolcow sects of the site because Redditors will be frothing at the mouth, baffled and irate that the person exists. The discussions ultimately devolve into: "this person is a fucking piece of garbage because I deserve what they have and they don't" or "I have bone cancer, PCOS, DID, ADHD, Autism, rickets, leprosy, and I still work 48 hours a day. I hate this person because they don't work/suffer as much as I do."
Reddit, like Tumblr, cultivates an environment where perpetual victims can thrive off fake attention. Mental disorders and general incompetencies are seen as virtues. We have so many screenshots of embarrassing, power-leveling profiles in this thread because you can make a killing in upvotes just by crying and bitching how much your life sucks, and how none of it is your fault.
Also, Reddit formatting is obnoxious. This is a weird point to make, and it goes beyond what 4chan refers to. Redditors type in this pretentious way, like they're giving a speech from a pulpit, in how they choose to isolate sentences. They do this with jokes too. They truly believe every damn thing they say is important.
