Surprising that EA would do something cool like this.
No idea what prompted it, well, it was probably money. There is still stuff missing like the old Medal of Honor, Syndicate, Sims games etc. I hope we get those too.
one rumor says they were added to EA's goypass, and someone proposed putting them on steam too and no one objected.
no idea how legit that is.

EA's library is weirdly fragmented on storefronts right now, the Allied Assault warchest and Pacific Assault are on GoG still, CnC just came to Steam as a ~20$ bundle half-off, but isn't and has never been on GoG. Ideally they'd just put everything in their back catalogue on both and call it good.

Super House of Dead Ninjas, Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe, Desync. Everything else depends on what kind of games you like and/or if you want to have stuff in your library that got delisted.
I didn't even know Adult Swim had games on Steam. That or they were totally forgettable and I forgot. I know they released some games for consoles. I believe there was an Aqua Teen game on the PS2 a long ass time ago. I think I heard it was pretty mediocre. I was a fan of Aqua Teen in the mid to late 2000's.
I wonder if the games still feel like shit and are a buggy mess on console, or if they got studio to fix up their slavjank for them.
In the trailer I posted they said they have been refined for consoles. I want them to release this for the PC as well. I would buy it. It's basically a remaster if they did all that. I want it. lol

A very based game with a very silly name has just dropped its Playtest today.

VOIN is a hack-and-slash looter inspired by the SoulsBorneRing genre and Doom ETERNAL. It's very smooth fast-paced combat in big open world levels. You play as some kind of lightning deity or something, it's got hard Dark Fantasy vibes, and your Hub zone has a very cool gothic-fractal aesthetic. It gives me similar vibes to something like the PS2 game Vexx, albeit without the puzzle solving or platforming.

The gist for now is that you have very high mobility, a dodge with 3 charges on a fast cooldown that makes you briefly immune to ALL incoming damage if timed right, light/"heavy" attacks (both of which can be held to charge them up, "heavies" add lightning AoE), and in order to heal yourself you need to land 3 light attacks to gain 'Runes' followed by landing a heavy. Whiffing the heavy wastes your Runes. There's 3 abilities at the moment that are just on quick cooldowns: add free Runes, boomerang your weapon(s) out as blade-whirlwinds, and a back-jump into the air which you follow up with a dash attack.

A warning that the playtest is VERY barebones, for example you can pick up loot and find treasure like you'd expect, but none of the actual item stats are implemented yet. You can enter and "use" the level-up room, but it doesn't to anything except increment the number. Most menu tabs like the Character or Powers screens just have "NOT IN PLAYTEST" in big letters.

The playtest is free though, and the combat's a lot of fun. It's a less than 1GB download I'm pretty sure, so it's worth having a fiddle with and keeping an eye on if you're AT ALL into combat heavy, explorationy, high mobility games.

I've been playing Panzer Corps I's Allied campaign, and it is making me extremely MATI. For those who don't know, PC1 is a rule-for-rule clone of Panzer General from the 1990s with lots more maps and QOL improvements.

However, the Allied campaign just fucking sucks and is retarded. The stats on the British tanks make absolutely no sense whatsoever. Generally speaking, these games make some sort of attempt to reflect reality, but whoever made this just had a massive hate-boner for British tanks. Not that British tanks were fantastic, but in PC1, they're basically paper dolls with bubble blowers.

For example, in real life, the Crusader tank fared pretty well against the Panzer III. The Crusader Mk II had 49 mm armor and a 40mm cannon, as compared to the PzIII Ausf D's 30mm armor and 37mm cannon. But in this godforsaken game, the Crusader's offense & defense ratings are significantly inferior to the PzII. In fact, its armor is only slightly better than the Pz I. Its stats are so bad that they aren't even particularly good against infantry.

Meanwhile, the Sherman in the game has basically the same stats as a PzIII J, meaning it gets absolutely beat pretty easily by L & M series and absolutely buttfucked by PzIVs, when in reality it was all-around superior to the PzIII and held its own against PzIVs.

And, of course, the Panther is an invincible superweapon. Because wehraboos. A Panther steamrolls an M18 Hellcat and acts like a QF 17 pdr isn't even there. Yep, according to the wehraboos who made Panzer Corps, the most powerful AT gun the Western Allies had is but a mere toy against the might of the invincible Panther.

It is overall a good game. The main German campaign is fun, and the Soviet campaign is a blast. But the Western Europe campaign is just a chore due to the devs' excessive hatred of what were admittedly mediocre, but hardly entirely ineffective, British tanks.

Lust for ugly NPCs and homosexuality is apparently stronger than desire for cool mechs.
As a consolation, at least Pizza Tower got a lot of heaping mentions, compared to the original VGAs where it had only like 1/2 mentions.

Try Mortal Sin, to me it looks pretty similar, except everything has a weird filter on it and it has a few gimmicky jumpscares with mimics and dead bodies coming alive when you pry weapons from their hands- enough for them to advertise it as a horror apparently.

Try Mortal Sin
For a minute there I read that as "Mortal  Shell" which is a game I have zero interest in.

Mortal Sin was on my steam wishlist at some point in the past, but I don't know if it is anymore, and nah it and VOIN have fuck all in common.

Good to hear Sin isn't leaning on the horror aspect though because I inherently don't find videogames scary. I would have to try and remember every game I've ever played to think of even a handful of them that made me feel Le Spooky, and almost all of those I would've been a child at the time.

To be fair Mortal Sin does it extra gay, you'll inherently try to learn to play around the jumpscares and game them as they are mostly tied to ingame downsides aswell, eg. the wall monster grabs you you lose hp. It's more annoying than not with the shrieking as you'll just identify the 3 situations or whatever you can get jumped in and just always know it's there. Not scary whatsoever, just annoying.

Yeah wasn't a fan of that either. My most fun was playing the grand campaign as Germany, but I stopped at the Berlin stage. Might return to it one day, but it's such a slog.

Problem with 1 is that it's like a plain boardgame that just sees everything as a collection of stats. Really frustrating since some nations just end up being objectively better than others especially in a game that's built around keeping your units alive.

Also, the seething about this song makes me laugh
A bunch of seething frogs made the modern Yankee Doodle, and are seething that the Americans adopted it as their unofficial anthem. I still have no fucking idea how they saw that song as a "mockery of the heckin conservativos" because goddamn do I agree with the message of it.
I just found out they put the original STALKER games on consoles.
And they've retroactively changed any letters that remind them of Russia. Now it's Shadow of Chornobyl, Call of Prypiat, and the currency sign is now "SR" and not "RU" because apparently having those two letters in that order is incredibly triggering so it had to be changed. Even though lore wise everyone is still using Soviet rubles anyway.

Also for some reason there are Burers in SoC so they might've changed way more than just those pesky letters. Still, no mods, 16 years late to the party, suffer consolefags.
Sims games
If you ever paid for Sims games you are a retard and deserve to have all the poz troon shit of Sims 4 forced down your throat with no option to opt out. Fuck EA, pirate The Sims, and don't touch The Sims 4 because they suck dick.

I've decided to download and play through Mirror's Edge today, and I must say, it's ending is right up there with Portal 2. Kinda fitting given the title of the song.

At some points it was annoying, like not knowing where to go and how where I felt like DSP, and that fucking train segment, but otherwise it was an enjoyable experience. It also reminded me that PhysX existed, and it's no wonder it died off. A gimmick you'll notice a few times and then forget about it. The art direction and the soundtrack were stellar though.

It is a "play once and then never again" type of game, and with a lot of wasted potential given it was made by EA in 2008 and we all know how it went from there, but it was a good experience. Another classic ticked off the list.

That doesn't really bother me.

They haven't released them yet. I am sure Digital Foundry will do a review and cover all the major changes. At least I hope they will. Yeah, it sucks that they waited 16 years to do this. Peasant boxes can't do mods. As long as they fixed the games up then they can play them without mods. SoC and CoP are both playable without mods. The games still look pretty good especially with the lighting system in the X-Ray engine. They can't play STALKER Anomaly though which does suck. It's like a singleplayer Escape from Tarkov. Considering that the console fags don't have many good games available they should actually feel lucky they get the PC master races sloppy seconds. lol

The consolefags get to play Clear Sky though. So suffer consolefags. lol

I'm more bothered by the fact that there is a STALKER trilogy remaster coming and all I have heard about is a peasant box release date.

I’ve been doing nothing but downloading games from Steam and GOG, yet I’ve only played just a few of them.

These two, on the other hand, looked pretty good to play:

The best part was that the second one was for free.
Not a popular opinion usually but I fucking love Shadow Warrior. I'm playing through 3 at the minute. I know they do get a lot of shit (rightfully so) however they remind me of a time when gaming was actually fun. You have juvenile humour and generally tomfoolery in them which I love to pieces. If you like NuDoom give them a go, they should be really cheap though I haven't checked the prices admittedly.

Anyone have any suggestions for FPS games? Preferably on PS4 or PS5, if possible; been playing some of the Battlefield games, those are pretty solid.

Also, what about the Far Cry games; is 4, 5, or New Dawn worth picking up? Bit hesitant given Ubi's track record, but I'd though to ask.
Far Cry 3 is probably the best story wise but I'd say 4 has the best experience over all. Play Blood Dragon too if you can nab it cheap as it's bloody brilliant. Battlefield went to fuck after 1 unfortunately which is what made me stop playing them. It's a shame because me and the lads sunk an unholy amount of time into playing 3 & 4.

Super House of Dead Ninjas, Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe, Desync. Everything else depends on what kind of games you like and/or if you want to have stuff in your library that got delisted.
Super House of Dead Ninjas is awesome. Hard as nails but it's amazingly well made I love it. I believe it's a few quid at most usually so it's well worth a nab if you can.

Trepang2 - F.E.A.R. but not fucking boring. Comes off as just CoD gunwank with slow-mo for the first level or two, but even then still has big First Person OTXO/HK Massacre energy. I made the mistake when I played it of not doing many side missions, but the side missions are where some of the really good supernatural shit happens. I'd be keen as to see a sequel, because the story does create an interesting world, and "modern paramilitary organization fights ghosts and anomalies" is pretty fucking rare outside of STALKER.

Nightmare Reaper - Roguelite Boomer Shooter. The visuals are very mid (and that's coming from someone like me who enjoys boomer shooters). If you enjoy the kind of ridiculous guns Borderlands' rpg modifiers create but wish it wasn't fucking cringey bullshit like BL is, it's great.

Deadlink (may not be on PS) - Another roguelite, basically Cyberpunk Doom Eternal. Very cool aesthetic, very smooth and polished. I can lose hours to it if I'm not careful because it's just so fucking immersive and cathartic. I enjoy the gimmick of the Endless Survival mode where you end up spending like a hundred years in the pod and your minder starts telling you about shit like your coworkers dying off and dinosaurs being re-extincted by another asteroid.

Call of Juarez: Gunsligner - Completely different from the other CoJs, probably the best one. Short, snacky arcadey game. Pulls you in with fun gunplay and ludonarrative synergy, and then hits you with feels in the very late game. One of the few games where I'd say it's actually far more appropriate to take the "bad" ending when the choice is offered.

Serious Sam 4 - Brainlessly mow down literal hordes of enemies with fun guns. Much less "run backwards and shoot" than the rest of the series, and the comedy is cheesy but not as cringe as I expected. Takes some time to really get to full speed, and there are times where the game can feel a bit sloggy just because of how many enemies you mow through.
