Oscars 2024

Hillary Clinton weighs in...and the comments are savaging her for her priorities

I feel like if Hillary even looks at a barbie doll it would melt under the pure vitriolic heat that her soulless demonic gaze emits. They should make a Barbie Bill though, blue dress and red high heels included with the set.
Don’t forget the Lolita Express plane with Epstein’s Island as an exclusive add on with the dolls.

Man as someone who actually liked Barbie, the fucking whining over the supposed snubs is really annoying since it has 8 nominations, Robbie is still nominated for Best Picture since she produced the movie and Greta is nominated for Adapted Screenplay.

These people act like the only nomination was Ryan Gosling when Barbie had other nominations.

The biggest travesty if anything was Napoleon and Dilator of Destiny getting any nominations.

It's pretty funny that Ryan Gosling got a nomination but not Robbie or that cunt Gerwig. Even in a shitty, femenist movie, a man still ends up being the most beloved role.
You are giant fucking retard. GERWIG GOT NOMINATED FOR BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY. Now seethe while you suck Goslings dick, you dumb faggot.

I hope Oppenheimer wins best picture and I think it will.

Very glad to see the artisans who crafted Bradley Cooper's Jew schnozz for Maestro got nominated for best makeup.

Poor Things should have its nominations rescinded and the director should be arrested for promoting child sex abuse live at the ceremony.

The nomination Barbie most deserved was best song for I'm Just Ken. I bet they give it to the Billie eilish shit which will be a travesty.

The only thing Jimmy Kimmel should host is a parasite (RLM joke and I'm pretty sure it was about Jimmy Fallon but Kimmel is so much more deserving of our hatred).

Why do people still care about the Oscar’s after they gave Dances with Wolves Best Picture over GoodFellas, then they gave Forrest Gump Best Picture over The Shawshank Redemption.
The Oscars have had a lot of questionable choices to win awards.

Eddie Murphy won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor, but Alan Arkin won the Academy Award. Mickey Rourke won the Golden Globe for Best Actor, but Sean Penn won the Academy Award. Clive Owen won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor, but Morgan Freeman won the Academy Award. Austin Butler won the Golden Globe for Best Actor, but Brendan Fraser won Best Actor. Tommy Lee Jones won the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

People’s opinions, I guess? Although with the DEI, I can never tell anymore.

Isn't "Poor Things" a movie about sexualizing infantile women (and literal children, too, but only if their brains are in adult bodies) according to those fluff articles claiming it's "pro-feminist"?
I was going to try and give this movie a fair shot until YMS gave it a glowing review. Basically the movie deals with very fucked up concepts and has a very fucked up sense of humour about it, whether Emma Watson's character is the mother or the child is both up to you and irrelevant at the same time but the fact that people that like this movie call it a 'coming of age' is very hard to not boil down the story to your summary. It's fascinating and disgusting at the same time. Funny enough it isn't the most controversial thing Alasdair Gray ever wrote.
The whole feminism angle is because among the fucked up shit it tackles the idea of men seeking to control Emma Watson is one of the few concepts you wont need a blunt up your ass to understand. Lanthimos movies have become bougie cinema, a litmus test for how much media literacy can actually rot your concept of reality. I haven't met a single person that enjoys his movies post-The Lobster that didn't strike me as a wanker.
I also think Barbie wouldn't have done as well if Ryan Gosling hadn't been Ken.
Almost any other actor would've phonied out not the Goose tho. His Ken is a believable guy that just so happens to be stuck with a very believable teenager worldview.

On personal opinions, sucks that this year is so stacked because The Holdovers could've competed for photography and production design too. Hell, personal bias aside, I think people believed it was a legit 70s lost movie sort of excuses at the very least consideration.

I'm a big film fan and try to watch as many nominees as I can ahead of the ceremony, including the shorts. Unfortunately, the current predicted winner of Documentary Short, "ABCs of Book Banning," is making me sit through scenes like this:

(Earlier in the film is two fags whining that their book on gay penguin daddies was pulled from the library lmao)

Literally could not have the most cherrypicked cast of kids of hippie liberal parents and taught by hippie liberal parents, effusively insisting that, at 10 years old, they LOVE reading about black history, LGBTQ, trannies, and drag queens. One black kid keeps looking off camera like he's being coached. Now, I can only vaguely remember being 10, but I was more fixated on kid mystery and fantasy books than wanting to read about joggers getting hosed down by cops or fags sucking each other off, and all my classmates were the same. Yet this wants to convince me that there are millions of second-graders who are DESPONDENT at a book about trannies getting pulled from the shelves, and there is NO WAY they can learn about confidence or history without the concepts coming from the pen of a negress drag queen.

Disappointing especially because, when I was younger, I did seek out banned books -- but back in those days, banned books had more to do with kids being violent to each other or getting hooked on drugs or surviving abusive homes/school situations, not getting convinced they're trans because they're a girl who likes sports or a guy who's emotionally sensitive.
