I think there's a lot to rediscover out there. Baldur's Gate 3 was incredibly popular and a lot of people, zoomers included, seemed to like a turn based story heavy RPG. So why not the old Gold Box Games? They're simple enough to figure out, gold box companion lets you auto map and you can even design your characters little pixelated sprites.Nigger, name an MSDOS game that would actually intrigue zoomers aside from Doom 1/Doom 2. Maybe Wolfenstein 3D, but that game's unplayable to me. We didn't have much, but what we did have was good.
Pool of Radiance and its sequels take place in the forgotten realms which is probably the most recognizable fantasy setting. Gateway to the Savage Frontier does too, treasures even has a goofy small romance arc which they all seem to like. The Krynn series is probably my favorite and they all have those fantasy adventure elements fans of a BG3 type game would like if they get past the old graphics. Death Knights of Krynn could almost be classified as an open world game with all the side quests.
The Dark Sun games are fun too, although the sequel is really buggy. Good luck getting any other dark sun video games out there while you're at it, Wizards said the setting is too problematic and they've completely shuttered it which sucks ass because it's about as Jack Vance sword and sorcery as you can get.
I'm also just shilling those games because I love them but at the same time BG3 has ton of gold box DNA deep down. No bullshit, just tactical combat, good stories and experience points to murder stuff for.
A lot of the art kicks ass too.
