I know he was anti commie actually, but certainly a good few ideas he had were socialist. Like the 1 pot meal and the car for the people, Volkswagen. I can definitely confirm that supporters in countries like mine, called themselves the NSB, Nationaal Socialistische Beweging. (National socialist movement, basically showing how they were going around the democratic system by making it a movement) which was basically the Nazi party in the Netherlands. You will still hear our older generation calling any cop that goes against the people "NSB'ers."Without getting into it too much so I don't derail, it was like any other political movement with some vague complaints and ideas in common that met together. The Nazis had a socialist faction but they were destroyed in the Night of the Long Knives with the murder of the Strasserites and Gregor Strasser. Remember Hitler didn't even start the Nazi party, he just joined it early on. Ol' Adolf viewed himself as something neither left or right, or maybe something with elements of both.
Sounds like they're preparing themselves for the (color) revolution. Hopefully, the ultimate croak. Though I expect a bloodbath.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, that was definitely him

As far as I know, he has been unemployed for a long time. This phrase about "we remember" sounds like a threat by freaking hoboSounds like they're preparing themselves for the (color) revolution, the ultimate croak.
Is it really consulting? What I can see of their business model is that they contact various studies and basically tell them that if they don't make DEI changes to their game then SBI will contact the game company's investors and media companies and tattle about how fascist and racist their game is so that nobody buys it. I've heard stories about companies that had their game models and story nearly completed only for SBI to come in and force them to redo everything to something objectively inferior and unpleasant. Plus the biggest hits in the last few months like Palworld and Helldivers 2 were quiet releases that likely missed notice by SBI and other groups until after they launched and they then sold like hotcakes and were too popular to care about bowing to dei demands.Because the incentives are different. SBI gets it's money from consulting (and possibly government grants). Bud Lite got it's money from the customer
Yeah, though the issue is... a very organized hobo. Cause I know they mingled themselves into the pro-palestine crowds, and those activist protests honestly are getting a bit scary. Just this week they desecrated the opening of our holocaust museum. With a very lax police force chilling on their side.As far as I know, he has been unemployed for a long time. It's crazy how bulky modern games are. Usually with minimal returns. Personally I'm getting a 4070 super, 32 gigs of DDR4, and I have a 12th gen i7. That by any other standard is a monster. We landed on the moon with the power of a digital wrist watch, but you're telling me a game, a fucking video game, entertainment, is too tough for a computer leaps and bounds ahead???As someone who recently got a rig himself, I actively can & can't run DD2 at the same time. I have a 32GB RAM & a 1TB SSD, but this'll still make my PC shit itself cause I have an old Radeon 570 (not to be confused with 5700, I brought that 570 brand new once, it's was a budget beast at the time) & a Ryzen 5 5500.
In which world are things like i9/Ryzen 9, & RTX 4080/Radeon 7900 a "recommend choice" instead of a maximum one is beyond me. It's like the basic skill of size compression & lower-end comparability has become a lost art or something.
Walsh getting opportunistically involved in this when he's normally someone who'd say that videogames shouldn't exist at all just shows how the battle lines are being drawn.Do I want to know what Matt "hobbies should be chores" Walsh thinks about this?
good programming died decades ago as MORE RAM became the solution, games or otherwiseThe programmers can't optimize for shit, they're incompetent.
lol, I wouldn't start lumping incompetent japanese game optimizers with Woke/DEI just yet. The Japanese always had a different way of working on games, especially PC ports. It's crazy how bulky modern games are. Usually with minimal returns. Personally I'm getting a 4070 super, 32 gigs of DDR4, and I have a 12th gen i7. That by any other standard is a monster. Honestly it feels like a symptom of DEI and wokeness. The programmers can't optimize for shit, they're incompetent.
Different types of games, different types of solutions. They moved to utilizing GPU/Ram more for the big worlds to avoid all the loading screens. Pick your poison.good programming died decades ago as MORE RAM became the solution, games or otherwise
That's actually not a death threat, though the semantics won't matter to Mercante.
'Why bother being efficient? They can always get more RAM'good programming died decades ago as MORE RAM became the solution, games or otherwise
Which isn't that hard on paper. Just make it apolitical and enjoyable. If they even put in half a fuck, they could bring about the next Robert Heinlein or Brandon Sanderson.
But instead, they usually put out preaching-to-the-choir cringe like God's Not Dead or whatever the Daily Wire is attempting these days.
Their business model is "girl talk". They don't even have to be explicit as the implications would be hovering over every communication, giving them plausible deniability when addressing strawmen on xitter. Is it really consulting? What I can see of their business model is that they contact various studies and basically tell them that if they don't make DEI changes to their game then SBI will contact the game company's investors and media companies and tattle about how fascist and racist their game is so that nobody buys it. I mean I get ram is "cheap"... a brand new i9 core isn't. The deoptimization has only gotten worse with time. It's so silly. Doom can fit on a pregnancy test, but a modern sidescroller requires yesteryear supercomputer just to run.good programming died decades ago as MORE RAM became the solution, games or otherwise
No. They've pretty much admitted it's a protection racket. But mobster still expect to be paid for their "protection", and the same is true here.Is it really consulting?
I'm in two minds about it. Yes, there are bloated AAA games and engines. The programmers can't optimize for shit, they're incompetent.
This honestly inspires me to optimize my shit.I mean I get ram is "cheap"... a brand new i9 core isn't. The deoptimization has only gotten worse with time. It's so silly. Doom can fit on a pregnancy test, but a modern sidescroller requires yesteryear supercomputer just to run.
1) most of this stuff was already 'their own' before the enemy took over and corrupted it.Until the right starts making their own movies, music, comics and video games none of this shit is going to matter. You can own the le heckin' SJWs and lefties on Twitter all you want but meanwhile they're infiltrating positions of powers in the things you love and actually effecting change on those things. No amount of tweets or memes is going to stop that.
Instead of complaining create art with the sensibilities that you have. The right always wants to complain about art instead of creating their own.
Look I get there's getting with the times. A slightly outdated PC (not ancient just not top of the line) is a super computer from 20-30 years ago. Why are they making games that are breaking the backs of machines that literally can calculate moon landings? It's complete bloat.I'm in two minds about it. Yes, there are bloated AAA games and engines.
On the other hand there's baffling assumptions from people who don't make games. I've seen people claim all games should be made in assembly like Roller Coaster Tycoon and Mario were. It's just not feasible. When Starfield came out, I was surprised by the number of people who were trying to play the game 1440p 60fps high settings on PCs with a decade old GPU and no SSD
Woke has the same problem though, which is one of the reasons I consider it more akin to a religion than to a political movement. Years ago I remember commenting that Matt Damon made movies (the Bourne movies) that could practically be considered anti-gun-control propaganda, despite the fact that Damon is rabidly pro-gun-control himself. But in those days, Hollywood cared about making entertaining action movies, while using the large amounts of money they made to support their pet political causes.Which isn't that hard on paper.
That's all true, but I will say that for one reason or another the grip on woke stuff is loosening for the first time in a decade. That has pitfalls such as people being able to cope about stuff to a greater degree and ignore it, but it is a chance. I genuinely think that now and in the near future is the time if you want to push out a right-wing product. There's already momentum, the usual opposition isn't getting the funding or the reach they used to and from how defensive they are I doubt they're going to stick their neck out to shut down a new game or whatever. Usually they couldn't wait for something like that to happen.1) most of this stuff WAS already 'their own' before the enemy took over and corrupted it.
2) you can't realistically 'make your own' in an environment where the institution of power (both government and financial) are in enemy hands and actively work against you. you will be subject to being taken over, bought out, or coerced into falling in line with their demands.

josh can keep this site up through crowdfunding because at the end of the day a web forum is a small enough project that one stubborn autist who dedicates his life to it can still (barely) manage to keep it operational despite all this pushback, but for larger projects where you need to openly employ other people (especially qualified professionals) and need more extensive business connections with the surrounding economy, it becomes more and more impossible the bigger you aim to grow.
