Did Nick’s audience actually sit through that? I turn off any podcast/stream if the show becomes Superchat Q&A. If any of the old fans tell me those actually were good shows and Nick could naturally go from rando question to question & remain entertaining well that really shows how massive of a downfall Nick really had.

I guess I do qualify as an OG fan, I listened to him during the Maddox-arc, the interview with Null (sans Russell Greer topics I feel Greer is too pitiful to laugh at) and the Rittenhouse trial.

I did once give a superchat to Nick back when YouTube would give a monthly free one to YouTube Premium subscribers. It was about whisky and he suggested a good Scotch, the name I forget. Glad I asked him about a topic he’s actually knowledgeable in.

Were these superchat catch-ups enjoyable? Was he entertaining in his interactions with Superchats, or was it mere parasocialism? Who knows... The well is tainted for me.

I am fairly well disillusioned and cannot enjoy any of Nick's old content outside the jokes that are separable from himself. However, I can admit that I genuinely enjoyed most of his shows pre-WW. After that, it was background noise with the occasional real banger--sowmthing to listen to at work for white noise, and my brain would pick out the funny bits for an occasional laugh.

I have since come to believe that Nick had at least 3 types of fans:

1. The rabid fans of Nick himself and the Dick Show carry-over fans whobwanted to see chaos, and enjoyed the 'Balls or No Balls?' unironically.

2. The lonely anime weebs and terminally online: an audience who would throw money at Nick, and wanted an e-Daddy. These were mostly wholesome and liked the edgy aspect Nick provided whilst he kept up the traditional 'dad' image and semblance of morals.

2. The coasting fan who tuned in for specific content, and who turns him on for convenience--due to habit or lack of other options. Fans whose main interest was not focus of the show anymore (e.g. WW fangirls during the pending appeal or overnight deivers) but had enough liking for Nick to have him as background noise and company while working or studying.

Based on my recollection, Coomalot had a stream with Pippa and it went fairly well. He then had the brilliant idea to try to drama farm by posting pictures of a young woman with the same general body type and age as Pippa's actor, covering the face and saying that he had fun hanging out with 'not Pippa'. Keeping the separation between the actor and persona is extremely important in the business model for VTubers, and her many fans freaked out because some have been retired because of antics. This was exacerbated by the fact the Pippa did the stream without asking her management for approval--she stuck her neck out and Coomalot took advantage of it. Pippa has done things without permission before, but this blew up spectacularly and fans started attacking Coomalot.

In response, he decided to antagonise them for hate views, and he and Nick ran with the line that it was not a big deal and that the only ones mad would be the management company. They went on about how exploitative they are of talent and Pippa would be totally cool with what they did, but she was just scared of the managers--despite her being very clear that it was NOT alright. Coomalot was in it for the clout and Nick for the dumb doubling down troll. They purposefully ignored people telling them how the industry works and how it was a bad thing Coomalot did by suggesting Pippa could do better on her own and should just quit and go solo without the support of a company.

@Neetorino just for future note, i have noticed a duplicate bug in the rants csv file. The dupe didn't happen with my end of stream stats and by extension the global stream csv file. I will have a look at ways to try to detect and prevent in the future. Unlikely it has thrown estimate totals off by too much but it may have happened in the past. I will try to make a habit of uploading the global file with the last stream of the month.

It wasn't so much "sexual harassment," as he tried to pierce the veil of the vtuber avatar and suggest he was in a relationship with the girl underneath.
