Warhammer 40k

The necrons are boring and overpowered.
“Uhh ackstually, I wasn’t killed I instead teleported instantly 38,000,000,000 miles to my tomb world and regenerated.”
“Uhhhhhh acsktually I regenerated from losing my entire body, and also I’m heavily armored and my weapons are super strong and basically indestructible.”
“Uhh ackstwoally there’s like 5 billion unkillable supersoldiers on this planet and they’ve been there the whole time so, ha.”

Overpowered Mary Sue faction with a tiny handful of remotely interesting characters. Never seen them lose in the lore.

Fact: The galaxy belongs to the Necrons and all other factions refuse to adept this fact.
Fact: The galaxy belongs to the Ruinous Powers and all other factions refuse to accept this fact.

I just like that a ton of boomers pop out of the Eye, fuck shit up, complain about ancient grudges then go back to Florida.

It'd be cool if they expanded a bit more on the war in heaven era warp and chaos. If the old ones were prescient, how did they fuck up so badly that the ruinous powers came into being?

Probably too busy creating the Tyranids. At least that’s where I think they came from considering a single old one was supposed to have lived and left the Galaxy.

I hope and pray the origin/motivations of the nids is never elaborated on.

>Giant hueg-ass World Engine awakened in M41, destroyed by Imperial Navy with Astral Knights help
>Trazyn helps Cawl and even sends an Ultramarine squad he captured to defend Cadia, still lost in 13th Black Crusade
>Necrons awakened in both Kronus and Kaurava, still lost by Blood Ravens and Orks respectively
>Even other dynasties are failing because of being overrun by their own Flayed Ones or Destroyer Cults, as well as being subsumed by other "dynasties" (Empire of the Severed)

lol Mary Sue my ass

The fact that nobody has yet recommended any of The Vampire Genevieve novels suggests to me that everybody in this thread except me is a nigger.

Genevieve is a very, very, very old comedy-action novel. It is great, but has even more issues with canon nowdays than Space Wolf. It is absolutely a fun read, 100% better love story than twilight, but the quirky goth loli vampire antics are somewhat of an aquired taste. Perfect anime material though.

I just thought of something horrifying, remember when GW used to do community campaigns which would affect the lore (i.e storm of chaos from 2004 WF, original 13th black crusade in 2003 40k, etc.), part of me can see GW doing that for which primarch comes back next.

Some shit like another massive tard fight between the fists and iron warriors happens for some reason and the winning side gets either Dorn or Perturabo back first.

Yeah there's zero chance modern GW leaves potential sales/business shit in the hands of the players instead of management. Hell they already learned that lesson which is why they
a)rigged the absolute fuck out of those campaigns
b) haven't done them again in 20 years

If they let community campaigns effect things again, every battle would be an Alpha Legion gay op.

Remember to run them over when you’re driving.

Aren't/didn't they do something with the leviathan box where the winning side got more models? Plus assume in some bizzaro world where GW tried this. they'd probably would of just said a primarch comes back, not specifically the winning side's (so rigged from the start but with an illusion of choice)
Also no amount of rigging in favor of chaos was able to stop Grimgor from completely derailing their plans.

No, it wasn't even that. It was just that the winning side got the rest of their upcoming models revealed a couple of weeks earlier on a livestream. The planet itself also wasn't of any narrative consequence as of yet(I don't think it was even named before that event) meaning the entire thing was fairly inconsequential.

GW still does narrative events, but they're done in person, scaled way down(their last one did I guess have 300 players) and really only exist for the people super into them and the story is contained to that event itself. The last one they did was in November at event in Atlanta https://www.warhammer-community.com...ive-live-latest-lore-and-action-from-atlanta/

They then took two and a half months to jot down names, tally up the results, and write a little story for it

Same thing back in 2022

If I remember right, before covid they were just doing them at warhammer world, but now they're doing them alongside their "world championship" in November.

Is Necromunda worth getting into? Every now and then it catches my eye and I think gang wars might be a cool setting but I browse the model range and feels kind of disappointed. Feel like I could get a few good bits and models to make the Inquistorial Agents feel cooler compared to the standard models.

In my opinion it is the best Warhammer system I have played so far, in relation to models you are encouraged to kit bash a lot especially if you actually want to represent what equipment your dudes have and even in fluff unless the guy you are making is a champion, leader or aspirant they have no real obligation to wear a "uniform"

this complaint has probably be said in the thread before, if so I apologize.
I think the vast majority of ork models are super fun, but I kinda dont like beast snaggas. The models are fine enough, and I know I can just paint it how I want, but I really dont like the pedophile triangle they show off on like each of their kits. maybe I should give GW the benefit of the doubt and assume they were trying for like 'simple tribal looking geometry patterns' but I dont know, it just icks me out

Some of the new kroot have the same symbol on them.

It's just an unfortunate coincidence. The triangular kroot symbols are supposed to be reminiscent of closed and open beaks because they're cannibals that evolved from chickens.

To be honest, triangles have been around for ages. They just wanted tribal looks.

Pedos are slimey and often use extremely innocent looking symbols that are very common, so they can slip by normies.

Of that symbol was on the cherub handler SOB I would say put on the tinfoil hats.
