The thing with Borat is that there was an absolute fuck ton of filming time compared to a TED talk, and a movie is a lor easier to edit compared to an hour long speech, since you can always film more shit. With an audience like TED you only have that one shot and that's it.
Along with most of the new Borat probably being fake, I heard somewhere that a bunch had to be cut, refilmed, or edited due to interruptions from fans wanting selfies or autographs, and that they ended up having guards to protect the "scene".
