do the burger boxes have a W on them? Just wondering cause at the one I got stuff froma few days ago it was inconsistent. Promotion deadline is the 18th apperently but Ikinda hope they don't just throw all that shit out because I've only had like one day I was feeling like eating mcdonalds the last few days and I wanted to gather the funny boxes. Not paying the fuckers that want 30 dollars for a used box online.

Can not unsee Beavis and Butthead Burger World logo when I look at the new upside down Golden Arches
Yeah as i said the upside down mcdonalds logo thing and the "wcdonalds" is less an anime thing and more a royalty free mcdonalds reference thing. Honestly I'm surprised they came up with original stuff for this instead of licensing out some pre-existing stuff like they'd usually do in this kinda promo.
I want to have that fucking sauce at least a second time, I can fully understand after having it the first time why the marketing images put sprite with it instead of normal coca cola after having it with the nugget combo when I actually got it. Ironically the reason I chose sprite the day I got it was because I hadn't had one in a good while and I was wondering if taking in that bit less of caffeine would actually help my sleep schedule out. It didn't.

They must still have them some places in the States (we still have them here in certain ones in Canada even.) They've probably been reducing in numbers though for a bunch of reasons including not having drive thru options and other chains competing for the spots. Covid likely did damage to them, especially in states that were more strict about a myriad of things.
I've heard different things—even at their peak they weren't universal (Subway or Radio Grill sometimes took the coveted spots), that Walmart owned and operated many of them and simply weren't willing to renew the contract, that they weren't equipped with grease traps and were fucking up the sewage system, that McDonald's hated it because it didn't have drive-through...I'm not sure what the reason was.

But that's not really an excuse. Didn't they also conveniently place their locations in various mall food courts?

As long as I can still get a 20 piece and two medium fries for 8 bucks through their app I'll still stop there occasionally. Otherwise the price hikes are insane.
For the prices McDick's charges for their "premium" shit or even their regular shit these days, you can almost always get something better somewhere else for not much more or even sometimes for less. Like if you want a premium chicken sandwich, there's Chik-Fil-A and pretty much everything about theirs is better. If you want a fish sandwich, Culver's makes the McFish look like some sad shit. As for burgers, their supposed forte, Steak n Shake whips their ass.

You can definitely spend more on a burger, with something like Red Robin being the king of that, but again, you're getting a vastly superior burger.

I think the issue with McDicks prices is that they are staying ahead of the inflation curve while the rest of the restaurant industry is getting felted. You generally want a 25 to 30% margin on your items from just the base cost of it in order to stay ahead of labor and facility costs. So that you turn a profit. The problem for everyone is the price of Food has been skyrocketing and the consumer base is getting sticker shock. Its not just McDonalds. Five Guys is starting to eat shit too for their prices. As for the Independent stores can't keep up as their prices are more sticky then the big boys. Chic Fil A is able to thread the needle due to the fact chickens are dirt cheap and as Beef has skyrocketed in price producers have increased Chicken production to meet the new demand for Chicken. Chicken Meat is also more adaptable to scaling up which is why you've not seen eye watering price increases as compared to beef.

Its still retarded high though. A packet of Chicken thighs that cost 1.99 four years ago will now set you back 4.99.

You can still sometimes find those more normal prices. When I do I buy something like ten pounds at once, though, and I'm pretty sure other people have adopted the same mentality, so those disappear quickly.

Yep. My latest trick is to just buy the entire tenderloin of a Pig, carve it up myself and freeze it. Ditto for Bulk chicken. I may have to invest in a grinder and start making my own ground meat and sausage too.

We are going back to the 19th century.

Pretty sure it's a normal thing to do in east yuropoor.
