I saw the movie with a guy friend of mine and he wasn't, like seething, but he thought it was too mean-spirited. This after women have been lambasted by male-centric films, TV, books, and other media since the advent of the written word. Men desperately trying to make "femcels" a thing is so funny. I keep seeing the word more and more on Twitter and social media, of course it's always referring to women who point out misogyny or are feminists.
Men are really trying to equate women who hate men for oppressing us for all of human history and for being our biggest natural predators as the same as incels who hate women for not having sex with them. They are trying so hard to turn it into "Nah you aren't actually mad that men are violent and horrible to women and want to take women's rights away again, you're just mad you can't GET DICK!" It's so delusional. Any woman can pick up her phone and have a man come over for sex within 10 minutes. Women will never be involuntary celibate, sorry. It's only ever voluntary and men just really can't understand not revolving your entire life around sex. Even men who are sympathetic to women in some ways don't understand that women don't prioritize sex the same way men do.
I feel like the reason why moids try to push "femcel" shit and try to project this "YOU CAN'T GET ANY DICK!" bullshit is to shame/pressure women who are content with being celibate into lowering their standards just enough to have sex with them, similar to how society in the past shamed and warned women that if they are "too selective", "too cautious" or "too demanding" (read: didn't want to have a wife beater for husband) they'll end as all of those kooky cat ladies and bitter spinsters aka laughing stocks.
Also I noticed how lots of times moids that try to push these insults tend to project their own desires in those insults, fine example of this is when women criticize how moids who don't put any effort into anything want a mommy bangmaid gf that
takes care of them, they instantly go "Well you want a tall handsome gigachad that
you can take care of!". Even in insults they can't imagine the scenario being any different and project this idea of women being caretakers of other men, but this time it's derogatory because those women aren't taking care of the man hurling those insults but someone else.
Men accusing women of being "femcels" on Twitter is really just men accusing women of being lonely cat ladies with a fresh coat of paint.
I still don't get how the "lonely cat lady" is an insult, oh wow you're sentencing a woman with bunch of cats to live the life with them, how she pleases without being tied to some porn addict or mid moid, having his kids that she never wanted or had any intention of living? Wow, such a cruel fate.
Do they really think when those pesky lonely cat ladies denounce men that suddenly all of their already existing relationships with their families, long term friends or any possibility of building new relationship with anybody other than men just goes magically disappears just because they don't want to date men? Are they that deluded? Also do they not realize that there are now men as well that have cats while not having any intentions of dating anybody?
