Lmao I'm surprised he's openly citing Contra. I wonder if he's going to get an out-and-out mention in this vid.
Do you think he spent more time finding these sources or picking out his next skimpy leather outfit?

Toob receives a form letter and therefore can't pass up the opportunity show off both how in demand and tormented they are. What reason would the organisers have to purposfully attack someone who they are desperate to spend a lot of money to include in their event? Is it not more likely that the organisers just spammed an email out to an old list of influencers?
Classic Ollie humble bragging. No way this happened this way.

So the trailer for The Acolyte has just dropped.

Olly's nowhere to be seen, but has confirmed on Twitter that he'll be in it:

Public reception so far has been... mixed.

Ha, just came to post this. His agents very generously claimed he's "starring" in it,

but he wasn't in the trailer or on the IMDB cast list

I suspect "Ensign Eurus" will be a very minor role and at the rate things are going for Ollie, will probably have a lot of cut dialogue.

The Romans found it funny to subvert expectations. The likely purpose of these statues (displayed in gardens, theatres and gymnasiums) was genuinely a pickle surprise. They weren't deifying Hermaphroditus's gloriously non binary erotic form, they were pointing and laughing. That's why there were so many copies of these statues - having a dick joke statue in your hortus meant you were cool. The Symplegma in particular is interesting - the satyr has seemingly happened across Hermaphroditus and launched himself because he thinks he's about to rape a nymph, but the chiton has slipped down to reveal a boner. The pose may suggests Hermaphroditus might actually be trying to draw the surprised satyr closer or stop him escaping - the foot's hooked round for example, and Hermaphroditus is smirking.
This is a great post, and in that vein I want to point out something you can see from Pompeii, I was there last year and its a painting kept in the (large) NSFW part of the museum in Naples, its basically another variation of what you describe, a Satyr realizing that Hermaphroditus has a dick and desperately trying to untangle himself from the situation while Hermaphroditus is trying to draw him in:

There's also this one, its a bit more ambivalent but it reads to me as if the assailant is reacting with shock at the surprise penis.

It is kind of funny how what seems to me to be overwhelmingly most likely to be a crude joke about dickgirls has to be recast as a sign that the ancient Romans and Greeks were celebrating gender non-conformity that us stuffy 21st century people still don't get. I wonder if 2000 years from now people will be talking about Ace Venture: Pet Detective as representing how accepting 90s America was of Trans people?

Having said that, I do think there's a sense with some of the paintings and sculptures of Hermaphroditus that it is meant to be sexually appealing to at least some people, but again, its kind of crude thing where the appeal doesn't seem to go much deeper than 4chan porn of dickgirls.

Bet he plays some awesome girlboss who says shit like "Only a Sith deals in Binaries" or "It takes a real women(tm) for a job like this". Trailer looks generic and boring (imagine every thinking about saying smth like this about a star wars series).
The bibliography of his newest terf-bashing masterpiece is literally just judith butler, breadtubers talking about butler and hacks quoting butler.
And Shaun's Palestine video, why not.
Choob from the back (without filters or careful posing, look at that fucking man fat):
I'd love to hear the thoughts behind this costume idea.

I'm not paying to watch The Prince, but my understanding from reviews is that Ollie starts off as several Shakespearean characters (including Hamlet) but then in the role of Hotspur gradually sheds his historical costume to reveal more modern and feminine clothing (with the mesh top doing a part reveal) as he slowly comes to terms with his identity as a trans woman trapped in a play acting as a man.
I think something similar happens with Lady Percy, who's Hotspur's neglected wife - over the course of The Prince, she goes from neglected and submissive wife to outspoken modern woman after a feminist awakening, and her costume changes to reflect that

It's worth noting in the original Henry VI, Lady Percy does hold her own somewhat against her husband and at one point even threatens to snap his penis ("little finger") if he doesn't tell her what's going on. Maybe Ollie acknowledges that, I don't know.
He's done a TikTok about Star Wars

This reminded me his other transgender short film project still hasn't come out. Mia Moore's making a film called "Again Again" about a transbian who's stuck in a Groundhog Day time loop until one day she isn't. There's some production stills of "Naomi" now

I don't get it, they're literally women, no different in any way from any other woman, but they're always playing trans women specifically in everything? Feel like Abigail could be the first big star to break out of this typecasting of trans women but does she just not want it enough?

>Olly features in Soy Wars
>Trailer ends up with negative dislike ratio

Not a coincidence

It gets better, some people upset that people are not too into the show are saying its because bigoted fans can't accept Olly!

As much as I'd like to think that him showing up in anything is offputting to people watching, the truth is that the people who are negatively reacting to the show aren't even aware he's in it and are mostly going off the trailer he doesn't appear in.

Can't quote long post

@AssignedEva

Pretty much all of the stuff people say feels relevant - that it's disturbing, degenerate, dangerous, indicative of poor mental health, a sign that someone's deeply unfulfilled, a sign that people need to work on their spiritual life, a sign that someone's got too much time on their hands, that they should work, that it's something to be shunned, that people promoting it to others are doing something wrong. And it's unfashionable to say those things because it's "kinkshaming", but the criticism of "kinkshaming" is usually directed at people who have a problem with something like a bit of spanking or bondage or roleplay... not something this extreme.

This post was interesting and made me think about "kinkshaming" in more depth. The idea that kinkshaming is bad - which I tend to loosely agree with in a live and let live way - relies on the participant themselves to feel an appropriate level of introspection and shame. For responsible adults, kink is a fantasy and a way to poke around with darker parts of the brain in safety. That requires that the participants acknowledge that it is both a fantasy and that it is based on something inherently wrong. Both partners must at least implicitly say "we're going to do something we know is wrong together." In that context, kinkshaming is turning healthy private shame into humiliating public shame.

For someone like Olly's friends, kinkshaming means something more akin to "how dare you make me think introspectively about my own actions" or "I refuse to be confronted by the implications of my fetish"
