I liked G-Saviour too :( I wish there were more Gundam shows like that dealing with mundane infrastructure/scientific issues. It had cool signage, and I especially liked the light-up "mobile suit dock" signs.
I feel Witch From Mercury had aspects of that with how it centers around a megacorporation selling technology and the different departments trying to get their mobile suits mass-produced. It's a shame the show has so many unlikeable characters and can't commit to any direction thus ending up being painfully bland.

She's not the only one who's shared this sentiment towards cosplay RP/ask panels before, Fatchild has too. Why are they so against them as long as the kids are just having fun and not harming anyone? Just only want the panels they're interested in?

OPEN FOR INTERPRETATION lmao

G-Witch was so much wasted potential. Even the school setting could have been good if they used it to worldbuild.

I swear, these people really don't understand how words work.
Bitch, a journalist can be dishonest without lying.

My favorite example is Caitlyn's Nekopara review.
A review in which she herself is being outright dishonest by giving the the show a pass, in spite of *GASP* not lying to us, and at the very least and making it very clear she didn't like the show.
While she wasn't lying, she WAS being underhanded to the reader, I wouldn't be angry about the review if she had just trashed Nekopara as being pandering moekyun trash, because those are her HONEST thoughts about the show, and I can respect that that. I don't respect her disingenuous, half ass, "attempt" of being impartial, when she was anything but.

This thread is at its best when it focuses on social media drama and deranged antics of the staff on the ANN forum.
It's at its worst when it turns to bitching at ANN reviewers for daring to dislike or make fun of a crappy show (which they never dare to trash hard enough anyway, like certain other places). It's Reddit-tier behaviour and makes the butthurt poster look like an IQ 50 ragetard on an autistic holy crusade to defend the honour of Generic Slop of Winter 2022 , which will be long forgotten within a year or two. What's next? Are you going to go after MAL reviewers for their incorrect opinions?

This you?
I hate their shit taste in Gundam. These people will worship a turd as long it will have even vague LGBTʞζť-“`Δ]‘č¤ÂĽ‚ć:Ď©ů>]†Śq“˘ćÂŞ"†bź*ŠRŚľvr+ pandering.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! YOU CAN'T PORTRAY TRANNIES LIKE THIS!!1

But the video is more accessible and more digestible than the thread. It will also be viewed by more people. Nothing but a net positive.
Dude's a tranny and also fudges some details (like Sevakis being the "owner" of Discotek, when he isn't.)

It's a semi-correct video that could've been condensed into half its runtime, and didn't need stuff like the Jap lady killing herself as it isn't in the same ballpark as what JA did. A shitty rewritten, misinterpreted dub can be tossed out and forgotten; a full adaptation of your work that's more expensive to produce makes for longer lasting impression and more of an uphill battle to erase.

The newest TWIA with Farris and Lucas is titled "When Criticism Meets Anime Fandom" and goes down the exact path you'd expect. They spend much of the column defending Lauren's awful Gundam takes too.

To quote a forum post that's probably going to get deleted or get yelled at by ATastySub:
Wow, what a pointless non-discussion. You just blame the public, accusing everybody of being insecure and angry when a critic has a different opinion, but that's only one half of the matter. It is a fact that a concerningly big number of critics is incompetent and deserves to be called out for it.

I really don't get this level of whining from people who get paid to share their opinions. They are as valid as anybody's, but they're granted a much bigger exposure than the others; that's why they can and should be criticized.

Also, the subjectivity/objectivity issue is much more complex than that. Your personal opinion is entirely subjective, but a review should assess a product from multiple angles, some of which are objective. If I tell you that Ex-Arm is well animated, you laugh in my face, because it objectively isn't. That's an extreme example, but you get my point.

Finally, accusing others of bad-faith arguments just after having mentioned Hogwarts Legacy to bring the culture war into this is not a great look.

ANN got community note'd.

Farris (the one who called the mangaka a pedo in one of his episode reviews of the show) is now aware of it:

Caitlin is not happy to hear about Kotaku restructuring to focus more on guides:

Surprised none of the usual suspects have chimed in to the criticism of that TWIA on the forums. By now you'd expect, say, Nick to tweet a screencapped post on his Twitter or Andy to yell at dissenters on the forum thread.

So Cuntlyn is upset that Kotaku might be actually getting it's shit together and start doing useful things for once?
Of course she is.
If they can actually save ship with this new strategy, you know other sites like it will follow suit.
And then, she really will be SOL... :unholy:

Usually, forums' newer users tended to provide more pedestrian and pedantic commentary but ANN's oldheads is just filled with sychophants and it's only newer users saying anything of particular value.
