James Rolfe is an autistic man who for sure has some lolcow traits but isn't a full on lolcow. The reason why is he is missing one of the core traits of a lolcow he does not freak out or rage at people on the internet. That's pretty much a requirement to be a lolcow. The nearest thing to a meltdown James has had in nearly 20 years online is the behind the scenes video where he says "Do you want me to suffer?!" when he's talking about Screenwave helping him. Even in that video he's only mildly annoyed in his tone. Other then that video he is completely and utterly silent towards his critics. No lolcow is like this.

Mike Matei on the other hand spend years blocking, using DMCA takedowns and threatening people who criticized Cinemasscre. He abused the shit out of the copyright system to get his Mineycrafta video scrubbed from the internet because he could not handle it. He is extremely thin skinned and has been caught using alt accounts to defend James online. He has many documented on stream freakouts and clearly has an actual anger problem. He also stole a picture of a giant dick from a gay porn website and pretended it was his own to brag about to random fans on Cinemasscare social media.

TLDR: James Rolfe is an autistic man with some weird quirks. Mike Matei is a lolcow.

I think most of the discourse of James comes from former fans wanting to see the videos improve or have the quality that they used to see from James compared to the slop that happened after the Slobs came into the picture. Instead of James ruining his life.

I feel like while he is a cow, he is such a minuscule one and gives so little material to be one. His two biggest things have been Rex Viper and his book. Both of which are relatively minor for making somebody a cow. A lot of the real material has come from things surrounding Screenwave, which really can't be blamed on James.

At the end of the day he might be a special needs case but he is harmless. He doesn't really warrant the amount of hate he gets. Most of which comes from people just looking for drama and wanting to tear down an e-celeb. Even compared to someone similar like Doug Walker, he hasn't really done anything that warrants the amount of detractors he has unlike Doug who did do some stuff to warrant people disliking him. While I do see some of the seeds that have been planted that can make him bloom into becoming a worse cow like DSP, James has largely avoided going that route up until this point.

I think a lot of the discussion in this thread stems from him being obviously unhappy and the decline in his content quality. Given that he isn't unlikable, people do want to see him succeed and find happiness however he can.
