I feel like there are two (or more) types of that though. The type you mention is one, I think that comes from envy. They aren’t jealous, but they are angry that someone they don’t like is doing well.People who act like this either already don't like the person or don't have much else going on to actually worry about. You can tell it's always people who have enemies bubbling underneath who are waiting for an opportunity. People didn't like dream so they called him a groomer. Women felt off 'vibes' about Creepshow and Illuminaughti. People hate Alex Kister's (admittedly gay as hell) analog series. It's not only a self-fulfilling prophecy, but a way to mask your hatred under the guise of virtue. Something lots of politicians do, which is I think just human nature at this point. In the end it's just satisfying to see Alex get a taste of his own medicine after being fed to the pack of wolves he tried to throw Spook into.
The other type are people who try to be “pillars of the community” and try to cancel people and put people’s business out there in order to start weird hate campaigns. I feel like that stems from either sociopathy or personal feelings of low self importance/self worth. If it’s sociopathy it’s to gain perceived power, if it’s the latter, to feel like they are “somebody”.
I just don’t get it. I mean anyone can become a content creator in some way, it’s not a badge of honor and the viewers aren’t your friends.
