Carbon tax is revenue neutral bruh. It's not costing us anything bruh.

I have it on what I'll call "very good authority" that both of these places are filled to the brim with jeets, have economies deader than disco, and are degrading at such a rapid pace that they barely even resemble their state 5 years ago. Plus, have you seen the prices for housing around there lately? 500k for a halfway-decent house in a non-crackhead area, $1400/mo minimum for an apartment that isn't fucked up in some way or a well-below-code basement with cardboard walls. That might sound cheap, but unless you're in mining, healthcare, or government work you're not going to be making shit in North Bay or Sudbury. Average income for the area for a single person is like 40k pre-tax if you can even get a job.go to Sudbury, go to North Bay
Counterpoint: You want Federal employees to do even less work than they normally do (what is next to Zero). No, my wife gets it for our family; it definitely gets paid out. The problem isn't that it's a conspiracy, the problem is that it's retarded and doesn't do anything other than virtue signal and drive up shipping costs.
I said it before and I'll say it again, if the Liberals actually gave a fuck about carbon emissions, they wouldn't have pushed back on federal employees who wanted to work from home. The federal government is the biggest employer in the country, and giving their white collar workers the option to work from home would have drastically cut down on the number of cars on the road daily and therefore the amount of carbon burned.
mcdonalds employees also get brutally carjacked and killed in flint michigan. flint's murder rate is around 24 per 100,000, which makes it almost twice as shooty and stabby as thunder bay. They sure look like the rust belt towns of the Midwest. But the rust belt towns are cheap in the states. Even McDonald's workers own homes in Flint Michigan.
I can remember it having tons of Vietnamese and Asians. When I see Scott Pilgrim, thats what I'm somewhat reminded of.I still remember 2010 Toronto. Spent the day there. Totally a middle income city at that point, some rich people but nothing outrageous. Only saw two homeless people the whole day. A native woman with a sign and a drunk white guy with a cup other than that there wasn't very many visible homeless.
Most people were white walking around the city and the south Asians you'd meet were literally born in Canada with Canadian accents with their parents immigrating probably in the 1980's. Some Asian people and also some blacks but Jesus, so many white Canadians back then. And yes the TTC was safe to ride.
Only 14 years later and wow..
Not to mention that if you live in the city and don’t drive, the Climate Action Incentive (carbon rebate) basically only pays for 1 monthly pass on public transit (maybe 2-3 if you’re lucky)The bullshit carbon tax is designed to pay out the poorest because they tend to be good little plebs and don’t drive (cause they can’t afford it) and don’t own homes. The common belief that it’s okay cause it’s only taxing the middle to upper income class is bullshit. People in my tax bracket are being raped with taxes. We drive because we can’t afford to live in the shithole city and don’t want to take 3 transit systems and risk being stabbed or thrown on the tracks to get to work every day. Yet we are the people who are punished. They don’t even hide their goals of 15 minute cities with coffin apartments and a minimum wage third world workforce.
Im not sure what part of the city you visited but I have a distinct memory of walking into the Walmart at Square One in Mississauaga in 2011 and feeling like I had walked into India.
I dunno man. I agree that they do next to nothing anyway, but I worked from home for a year, and I found myself more productive because people weren't coming into my shit and talking to me about stupid shit constantly. I think the idea that there is a significant drop in productivity for certain kinds of work is pushed by big corporate because they are significantly overleveraged in commercial real estate.Counterpoint: You want Federal employees to do even less work than they normally do (what is next to Zero).
Thats exactly the reason why. Big businesses lobbied the government to "encourage" or in real terms "propagandize" people AGAIN into going back into the office because these companies own real estate that would be empty otherwise. The real shame is how easily the people are swayed by bullshit.I dunno man. Theres an increasing, baffling tendency of 2nd generation immigrants to embody resentments that even their parents didnt have, over slights that are basically made up and spread across social media (think AOC)- that leads me to care less about them

I think its worse now, because prior to maybe 2013 or 2014 minorities, asians in particular, actually got on with their lives, or you may even have the based rooftop Koreans,I remember '91 rolling around and then the browns and asians, all of course from obscenely wealthy families strutting around in crispy new Oakland Raiders gear and blasting NWA and 'fuck the police' to their parent's bewilderment. 3500 kilometers away from Compton in a country and a law enforcement system that will bend over backwards to avoid being called racist. Strange place.

Now even the Asians are screetching about discrimination, while being as retarded as jews in power. Olivia Chow recently announced that she wants to tax runoff rain because it overburdens the sewers in Toronto.
At least when the culture war mind virus was less perversive, you got less of this, but now every second or third generation immigrant is screetching about how Whitey is bad or about "we need to end historic wrongs"
We want to own our own homes Justin
