Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

It does have some barbie dress-up vibes which might turn off people who bought into the whole "games for men must be edgy and macho" cringe.
If this was the 90's I might have bought that logic, but now-a-days straight men have no issues playing girly shit.

People, including men, have wanted another peach game since the DS one, and how often do you think they also picked her in SMB2 and 3D World?

If you're like me who spent the majority of their 2000's playing DDR songs such as Cutie Chaser and anything Smile.dk/Papaya/Bambee/BeForU spat out, you're pretty much immune to that shit.

Rhythm games were a serious market during that decade, and then by the time DDR died out, Audiosurf, Rockband and Guitar Hero would end up being bigger rhythm game series, at least until 2013 or so

Well that's reassuring, was worried I might end up on some sort of list if I do end up buying it.

I don't see why, it's not so much a dress up game as it is a improv acting theme. If you were ever part of the theatre club in high school you'll feel right at home (minus the stage hand hiding behind the curtain while getting a blowjob).

Aside from Peach herself there isn't alot of "girly" themes in the game. The bosses are your stereotypical Mario boss design, one for example is cat with razor sharp teeth, and one of the levels has Peach try to hard off zombies who are addicted to sweets (and it's bit scary). My biggest disappointment is how shorts this game, 30 levels plus 5 boss fights. Also spoiler:
Peach literally turns into a super saiyan Rosalina

Pressing R switches the camera to Mario Mode where you're directly behind Mario like a 3rd person shooter.
I think I remember that now, but I didn't find it useful. I vaguely recall maybe using it in the clock stage to get a better idea of where things were once.

There's a fine line between "girly" and "for girls". I think anybody without hangups can play Peach games, but playing Barbie would be pretty faggy. It may be more accurate to consider Peach games "cutesy" rather than girly, because they're not that girly (you're not doing girly shit per se, it's more of an aesthetic, Super Princess Peach basically plays like a Mario game).

Is Punch Out considered a fighting game??
No, it is a timing/pattern game with a boxing theme.

Paper Mario 2 remake is a neat one. I might get it, I might not. The original has aged extremely well so my main desire for the remake is that they only upgrade the visuals.

Obviously this is asking too little. I'd also accept something akin to restoring cut content or adding endgame stuff. But anything else like changing the scenario or sanitizing stuff for modern audiences is a no-go.

With remakes and remasters, I want the same game I played 20 years ago but with nicer visuals BUT the same aesthetic, if possible. Otherwise the original is just fine. Young gamers say they want to play X game or Y game but then the remake they end up playing is nothing like the original. This is my paimary gripe with remakes: they end up being a half-step to a sequel and fail to retain the spirit of the source.

I thought F-Zero 99 just went into maintenance mode but there is a patch coming out today that will include Mirror Knight League, Classic Mini Prix, some achievements and challenges, and an expanded practice mode. Still waiting on that Ace League. Also Maximum Velocity is coming on the GBA library a few days after.

The bolded is my biggest worry. Japanese gaming is unfortunately becoming increasingly woke and translators at Nintendo of America (if we you can even call them) are notorious for finding every excuse to use gender neutral pronouns, even at the cost of comprehension. Nintendo has been a lot better than most companies but even they are not totally immune.

I will wait until the game comes out and people had time to discuss the changes in the game before I make the purchase. I loved the GameCube game and I’m contemplating experiencing it again on the Switch. But there are several “problematic” scenes that would be deemed offensive to postmodern society that could be changed or outright removed.
