Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

As a bong I can confirm that most stations aren't built for the disabled in any way. At my local station you need to climb a set of stairs to get to the other platforms, it's not at all better for disabled people since they aren't even able to access 2/3 platforms and the situation is pretty much identical at many of the nearby stations apart from the very rural stops where you have to go over a crossing on the track itself to change platforms. I know that Americans love to bitch and moan about their country but your government clearly puts a lot more effort into accessability than anyone in Europe does.
That's the Americans with Disabilities Act for you. It's the reason why parking is blocked off for disabled people, every new or renovated structure since the early 1990s having ramps, elevators, doors, and restrooms to fit a wheelchair, and so forth. It's created a lot of opportunity for grift and graft alike to the point where it created more problems than it solved, but it's hard to deny that it's a LOT easier getting around with a wheelchair these days.

Not to sidetrack but very valid point. Even military buildings aren't except from ADA, meaning we have to have braille for the blind people that will somehow end up in our motorpools or armories and wheelchair ramps for when some PFC missing his legs needs to arm up with a M240LW.

Nothing wrong with that.

But, it's probably for contractors.

The truck can pull 16,000 pounds. That's literally another truck. A few actually. Not to mention weight capacity. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to put 1500 liters of bricks in the bike (I love how they chose VOLUME to compare the two)

As someone who lives in a walkable European city and rides a bike every day, I just came in to tell all the lurking communists I wish them a slow death, and the same for anyone who identifies as a "cyclist", road bikes do not belong in the city and you look gay, learn to ride and not just pedal. And e-scooters should be banned.

Remember when they were just doing the "bed size" shit with Kei Trucks? This shit is getting dumber every day.
Im no fan of the giant truck craze either, its retarded to buy a giant truck on credit when you live in the suburbs and work at an office. The fake blue collar persona looks gay. However, the same liberals who bitch about it are the ones who caused the problem by getting the govt involved. King niggers 2011 cafe standards killed the small truck and the v8 land yacht leaving giant trucks as the only option.

The fake blue collar guys do exist, but I bet if you talk to them, most will talk about their home landscaping projects, their hunting trips, their boat, their fifth-wheel RV, their off-roading adventures, or some other hobby where a truck is really useful. You also can’t tell how much “real work” a truck does by how dirty it is; some of the heaviest users baby their trucks and wash them after every trip while many dirty trucks have been used for nothing but around town trips and just haven’t been washed in months.

Trucks have downsides like poor fuel economy and difficulty parking, and most people who don’t need a truck for truck stuff buy an SUV (which have superior passenger volume and interior cargo space) or a smaller vehicle.

Also, the people complaining about people buying trucks “they don’t need” tend to buy gaming computers that are way more powerful than necessary and see nothing wrong with doing so.

New CityNerd video:

Basically, nearly every single problem he pointed out is true of public transit or urban living.

Not going to do a through analysis but at one point he mentions "noise pollution" as a detriment of cars.

So how about public transit?
1000001636.png
Are tiny apartments immune to noise?
1000001637.gif

Another issue he has is with lack of exercise. On this I have two objections. First, if they are advocating for 15 minute cities with near door to door public transit, I have to question how much exercise on gets. Next, if we accept the current model in the US and most countries (except a few areas) then public transit takes LONGER thereby reducing the time to exercise.

In reality, health is more of a factor of personal will than muh transit infrastructure.

Self harm is brought up but one and always throw themselves in front of a train or subway.

He brings up ramming attacks but unless it's a near total car ban, one can always rent a car and use that for an attack.

He addresses environmental issues which cars do have a part in but the same applies to public transit with it being less cost (environmentally) effective the less passengers the train has.
1000001639.jpg
Less efficient in cost and environmental damage.
1000001638.jpg
More efficient in environmental and economic cost.

Economic costs are addressed but it's my money and I can choose how to spend it. If one bring up the greater infrastructure cost, then the urbanists will need to realize they can't have a train come every 15 to 20 minutes if the ridership is not dense enough.

I believe Jason was visiting friends in a weekday in the early afternoon and complained they didn't run enough trains to his convenience going to the suburbs.

That type of trip seems to be an absurd waste of tax payer funds so they will need to square that circle.

The topic of crime is brought up tangentially as City Nerd couldn't go into a local Walmart with a backpack.

That not an issue with cars, transport, or urbanism but crime. Singapore nor Japan has such serious problems.

All in all, the same irrational hatred of cars.

I'm someone who prefers riding a bicycle to work, through whatever weather it may be and I tend to avoid using a car to go somewhere within a 5 mile radius if it's not necessary or if it's not a situation where you have to haul lots of stuff but I don't lecture others that they should do the same.

Yet I can't do anything but admit that for every retarded car driver there is also a retarded cyclist or pedestrian who thinks they always have right of way on the roads and endanger themself and others with irrational behaviour.

People like the circlejerk of r/fuckcars are specifically the worst kind of others-hating, judgmental subhuman plague sores who get high on eachothers farts because they think they are saving the planet by taking public transport or cycling to work and they are insufferable, hive-minded niggercattle who make other people look at cyclists as if they're all dipshits and they persuade people to NOT use a bike.

But in the meantime they are also the smoothbrains that can't stop CONSOOMING shit such as but not limited to: plastic cup Shartbucks, unsustainable shipped-in exotic fruits and vegetables, multiple plane trips a year to vacation, the latest Goyphone each year despite their current one working just fine, are unaware of their water and electricity consumption, all while judging others on their habits and mannerisms.

Plenty of people have their own reasons to avoid bikes or public transport; be it out of necessity, to save time, hating the often delayed buses or trains, ... or just to avoid the scum that you can find on public transport often causing trouble or smelling like actual shit.

I despise each and every one of these people and can only hope they see they're not helping the environmental cause, they're just repelling people from it.

I live near a city and i can back you up there. It feels like a Mouse Utopia Experiment for Humans in the Urban decay. They pretend to be environmentally friendly without actually knowing how to take care of the environment. SMH

Also, the people complaining about people buying trucks “they don’t need” tend to buy gaming computers that are way more powerful than necessary and see nothing wrong with doing so.

There are plenty of people, including government officials, who will bitch at you and moralfag at you for wanting to buy powerful gaming or rendering computers too, and for the same reasons.

He also made no mention of the ability to carry passengers.

Turns out PhilosophyTube fell hook, line and sinker to LLMs bait and added it in a video entitled: "Why We Can’t Build Better Cities (ft.Not Just Bikes)". Here's the excerpt of Abighoul confidently and smugly falling for rdrama bait:

Yeah. Walking about 20 minutes to and from work isn't going to do shit for you. Healthier than never leaving your home sure, but don't expect to get in shape just from that.

Also some of these people barely know how to walk.
