I want good shoujo and josei recommendations. I want to get into them as a genre and just know all the tropes.

Sole shoujo mangas I'm aware of and could recommend are Card Captor Sakura and Ore no Monogatari.

I'm more knowledgeable in Josei (女性マンガ) on the other hand:

50 senchi no Isshou / Story of 50 Centimeters (3 volumes)
Ibitte Konai Gibo to Gishi / My Stepmother and Stepsisters aren’t Wicked (5 volumes)
Okoshiyasu, Chitose-chan / Welcome, Chitose-chan (7 volumes)

There is also the whole Yuri/GL section in the Josei category:

Finder Goshi no Ano Ko / The Girl Through the Viewfinder
Koi yori Aoku / Bluer Than Love (Ongoing)
Kimi to Tsuzuru Utakata / Transient Spelling With You
Kimi to Shiranai Natsu ni Naru / Into a Summer I Never Knew With You

Shounen.

One can argue they're not really for the younger kids [without reaching the outright 'for children' levels], but most of their magazines are outright described as 'shounen' and, even if they weren't, it falls into the demographic default of 'all else fails, it's for men'. Shounen ranges from something like ages 12-18, but that's only an expected range and a lot of younger kids and adults read the things even in Japan. The only thing that matters is that violence and nudity are allowed, even if it's just punching the other guy without really drawing blood and nipples don't exist.

nipples don't exist
Only when they're first published in the magazines (zasshi) but this censorship is gone once the actual volumes are printed, see Ayakashi Triangle, Slave and Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san as examples. TV adaptations are a totally different matter and will see much harsher restrictions depending of when/where they're aired, same for JP videogames with CERO.

The classification between demographics in mangas can be easily blurred though, in spite of the settings and artstyles. I first assumed Sayonara Rose Garden was Josei but it's officially Shounen, likewise with Shounen wo Kau (Taking in a Boy) which is actually Seinen. Not that it matters much in the end as people are allowed to have various interests.

Overall, as this season wraps up, I'd say it was pretty okay. Quite a few of the big shows were sequels to things I either dropped or didn't like enough to watch more of, so I didn't watch very much.

Most of the best shows were the ones that were continuing. Frieren, Undead Unluck, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto- all great. The ones that started this season that I watched to the end were solid 6/10s, all except Metallic Rouge which is so stupid I can't stop watching it.

My opinion on Dungeon Meshi actually changed. I see why everyone has been shilling it for eight straight years. It just had a slow start.

Also, I know Frieren's good, but the shilling is out of control. Normies need to be stopped.

Lacking a good bit of oppai there friendo.

Focusing on the mage exam for so long instead of the freak of the week format from the first 17 episodes or so was a mistake imo. Rather, the less focus that was put on the "journey" the less I gave a shit.

I’m going to read this when I can. Either way, this month is a terrible one for deceased mangaka artists.

Konosuba and Mushoku Tensei this season, Re:Zero in October, Overlord is getting a movie, what happened to Tanya?
I remember a season 2 getting announced years ago. Did they seriously scrap it?
