Lucas has had VFS and has relied on that to sound female but hasn't trained his voice in any way.

The "emotion" you referred to is termed prosody. In simplistic terms, women (naturally) sound like they are "singing" when they speak. This quality is termed prosody or sometimes emotional prosody.

VFS can't give a man prosody; it must be acquired through training, and Lucas has failed. Lucas likely increased f0, i.e., "the frequency at which the vocal folds vibrate when voiced speech sounds are made," but it is not quite female-typical.

Lucas required training to acquire prosody and a further increase in f0, but it looks like he did none of that.

It makes me laugh. I also feel a sense of vindication. I probably know more about Luke's recent life than most of our mutual friends simply by virtue of my participation in this thread. Our conversations about him usually involve me explaining the most recent events to them as best I can. When the swatting happened and he was rolling in simp-bucks some of my friends thought his ascendancy was assured. Some even feared I would be subject to reprisals -legal or otherwise- as a consequence of my posts here. But I had confidence. I knew Luke better than anyone. I knew he couldn't handle the social pressures of celebrity. He can't even handle the social pressures of obscurity. I knew he'd spend all of that money on frivolities and there would never be any lawsuit. He's the laziest person I have ever met.

I'm not sure I can provide more insights than I already have. Luke's brother was quiet but like most older brothers he liked to tease Luke occasionally. Mostly he just wanted to be in his room with his fiance, playing games and doing nerd shit. Luke's mom was much the same. When not working she spent most of her time in front of the TV. Luke was possessed by a certain angst that caused him to act out in strange ways - some of which I've illustrated for you already. Most of my memories of his mother's involvement in his life were of her chiding him for making too much noise or to clean up some mess - but I've already spoken on this subject. I know everyone is hoping for some type of dramatic abuse story but that just never happened as far as I saw.
