Going back to this. I've been seeing people elsewhere claim that this is not niche gamer bending the knee, just being pragmatic. I disagree.

They could've covered the story and named the PR companies that stopped giving codes.
They could've covered the story, and then mention in every game review if they got a code or not. That way any shills who did get codes we'd know they're part of the PR club.

Even if you say they had to do it, they had no choice. Niche Gamer is now tainted since they will say (or not say) anything publishers want, all they have to do is threaten to revoke access.

Since the market has found out about the "DEI" (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) scam, where it's more like forced inclusivity. It seems after their meetup at the GDC (Games Developer Convention), they're trying to change the language to not get caught, again.

So we have new examples like DEIB, the B standing for Belonging. And Microsoft creating a new (More cult-like) 'framework' on how to keep inserting "DEI" practises.

Clearly they didn't like a lot of the consumers realizing it was 'forced' representation. So after the GDC, they added new term they now chose to describe their inclusion with 'intentionality.'

These changes are intentional alright, but far from organic. Whilst they claim they do not mandate these guidelines. But instead, they'll make sweeping changes at the studio they partner with.

• Hiring of a DEI director
• Hiring of consulting firm to gender balance and review hiring/promotion policies.
• Hiring of Sweet Baby Inc. to work on the published games.

This last bit seems to sort out, as Sweet Baby Inc. has Square Enix in their client list. And this voice actor was likely the result of a 'gender balance.'

Let me save people 20+ minutes: larger companies are buying various media outlets, specifically sites like Kotaku, so they can bank on the brand name recognition while churning out heavily SEO-based AI-generated crap.

It's not going to be any worse, but it isn't going to be any better, either, because the AI will be trained on exactly the same wokeshit that resulted in those outlets going broke in the first place. The wokeshit writing might be somewhat better, though, because AI writes better than these useless subhumans, and it won't cost as much, so maybe they eke out a meager profit. I doubt enough to justify having bought these worthless, utterly despised outlets like Cucktaku that not even woketards actually read.

Bingo. I've never seen them review games come to think of it. I've always seen them do the minimum of write ups on the most basic bitch of news stories. They've always come across to me as the Diet Coke IGN. When they locked their comments section over a few mindless trolls, I could already tell which way these particular lemmings were going to go.

When studios have banned film reviewers in the past they didn’t like from screenings other film reviewers will kick up a fuss and refuse to review the film; it’s happened a couple of times and has kept studios from pulling this.

It just goes to show what wretched souls game journos are when they can’t even do this. Like the average leftie, all their solitary nonsense is just talk and they’d happily stand on a pile of their follow professionals corpses for that couple of dollars for a shitty review no one outside the industry will read.

I've archived a lot of Niche Gamer articles. I'm not sure who they're fooling. Companies that see they appear to have traffic and can be found in Google News, but know nothing about them being an "anti-woke", anti-localizer, anti-censorship (pro-coomer) outlet? They posted this a day after that tweet, so they're probably not done covering GG2.0 topics:

Review codes are lame. They might miss out on some interviews, which they rarely have anyway.

One of the big problems is game journalism has never been taken seriously and has always paid a pittance, even in magazine days. These guys are getting a penny a word and could not afford the to actually buy the games they are reviewing.

If you had a passion for games and a talent for creating reviews why work as a bona fida games journalist when you could make a perfectly good living having a medium sized youtube channel?

The result of this is the only people will to do the job now are the lefty kids of rich families who see it as a stepping stone into “real” journalism and are angry at the world for not getting what they feel they are entitled too.

The quicker the whole legacy media system collapses the better.
