I hope the lore is about the Sims 1 and Sims 2. Sims 1 was fun and surreal with the player being able to decipher the lore from NPCs, the families and even stories in the catalog descriptions. Not to mention for some reason Sims 1 had an uncanny/eerie vibe at times. Sims 4 is all about trannies and political correctness, just watch any drivel from Shitflix and it can be easily Sims 4 lore.

I doubt they'll feature the existing Sims a lot (Especially pre-4 ones) beyond maybe the Goths. My bet is on Quirky Relatable cast in an original setting, perfect for EA to make a tie-in game pack with.
The plot will be what The Sims 2 PSP did with the plumbob (A Sim becomes self aware and abuses it to control Sims) but horrible.

Sorry to barge in here, but why exactly is a game where you can drown or starve a person to death filled to the brim with players that are stereotypical tumblr types from like a decade ago? Why is this fanbase seemingly more insane than others? The Sims was played by tons of people, now it seems like it's solely this. When did all the normal people leave?

Sims 4 lost a lot of long time players (myself included) because it was completely broken on release. They also removed a lot of really good features from the Sims 3 e.g. the swatch tool, which let you customise the colours and textures of most items in the game - instead in TS4 you are limited to whatever textures come packaged in the item (like TS2) and often times the swatches don't match so the wood colours clash or whatever. They also scrapped the more open world aspect of TS3, and completely fucked up the lore (it's set in an "alternate continuity"). A lot of this was because it was originally going to be an MMO like The Sims Online.

The Sims 4 base game has had a lot of upgrades and is generally considered the best for building (you can have custom roof pitches on different sections of roof, you can have different wall heights, you can move windows up and down) so a lot of TS4 let's plays revolve around building houses over playing it. TS2 was the gold standard for playability because the team put so much work into little gestures - it has a lot of personality (and it's why a lot of funnier Lets Plays use that version). TS3 got bloated by the end and chugs a bit even on higher end computers.

Also TS4 is intentionally a lot harder to pirate. You could pirate older versions pretty easily by just installing each expansion pack, but TS4 cascades updates to base game so if you want the latest content you need to keep patching the base game. I might give TS4 a go once they stop updating it.

This part here is wrong. It's easier than 3 and non-ultimate 2.
I have the original Sims 4 base game on Origin/EAcrapp, and simply patch it with the Anadius updater + EA DLC unlocker. Bam, it's done.

You can even choose which dlcs you want (fuck Bust the Dust), the updater will download and install all of then for you. And the best part: complete access to the gallery. Every time it updates (and you are right about that, it updates A LOT) just run the dlc unlocker again. Or just disable the updates from Origin.

The only problem is if you're pirating the base game; then you can't access the gallery. I heard there is a somewhat complicated way, but I never needed it so I don't know about that.

I pirated the whole lot and there is a way to access the gallery although it's been forever since I've done it (last game I did was cottage living) I don't recall it being too overly complicated though

There is a user script created by Anadius that lets you access the gallery even if you don't own the game. I tried using it some time ago but it seems the script hasn't been updated in a while.

If you asked me 2 days ago I would gladly make a list, but right now I'm very far from my computer and I won't be back home soon, sorry. Also, I didn't played the game since the Horse Ranch expansion, I don't know what's up to date anymore.

BUT, the core mod that no one should play Sims 4 without is MCCC, "The MC Command Center". It has A TON of options and offer great control over a lot of shit in the game. From the top of my head: you can invert the alien pregnancy (only female sims gets pregnant from male aliens), you can forbid pieces of clothing for auto-generated sims, you can make everyone 100% straight (or gay), you can mess with teen pregnancy, you can filter out the stupid bar nights, you can edit any sim you see (click on a sim walking around and edit their name, clothes, etc.), and, by far, one of the best options: you can make the game generate townies only from your gallery.

I recommend downloading it from the official site: https://deaderpool-mccc.com/index.html , if you download from another place it might be out-of-date or missing a module.

Another tip: before using the "townies from your gallery" option on a clean save, make a sim in Sulani, walk around for 5 minutes and travel to Selvadorada - again, walking around the plaza for 5 minutes. That way, the native townies of both places will be correctly generated, and you don't end up with a pale vampire damsel from your gallery being a tropical forest native. Do this in any neighborhood you want the default townies to spawn before activating that option.

Sad reality is that they finally have control. They can finally go to work, invest in furniture, get promoted, and do well. Then they close their laptop, cry, goon, and do it all again next morning.

I swear I pirated TS4 without any problem, I mean, it was a year ago but I didn´t have any problem, I had all the packs since TS4 cottage living came out, I don´t have the rest of the packs but is not that bad, the madness of pronouns and the tranny boob scars and shit came out in later packs so I don´t have a problem with my pirated packs
