I asked that very question fairly recently. His book was published in 2023. After it was clear to everybody with a brain that Nick's Christianity was a facade. Yet it still included Nick's foreward.

I have decided to be a nice guy and assume he likely did not fully appreciate how far Nick has fallen. Maybe he wasn't actually watching much Nick. It has been said that he took a bit of a hiatus a while back. He also seemed genuinely shocked with how fucked up Nick was acting. Something that is no great surprise for anybody following this thread. If he were a part of a grift, I don't think he would have said the things he did in Nick's chat (also, he might be getting a shower call thanks to that).

As myself and many other atheists will tell you, we all came from ridiculous Christian and catholic households and had to read the Bible and get the gospel teachings constantly. So most atheists know the Bible better than believers.
I’ve even gone a step further and look at other religions and even the gnostic texts. So I mean it when I say that literally none of Nick’s beliefs align with any denomination of Christianity that I’m aware of. He’s straight up clown world.
The most liberal understanding is, according to early Gnosticism, repenting and sacrificing was not something god wants, you’re supposed to know the teachings and in knowing the teachings you can get to heaven. But that’s leaving out everything else it says about living your life righteously, so even then it doesn’t fit that already antiquated world view.
I’ve also noticed that he frequently misunderstands the few Bible stories he has spoken about. I remember like a year or two ago he talked about Job and how it just means “shit happens and you deal with it.” Which is a shockingly cynical way to miss the point that would even make the South Park version blush.

My honest feeling is that Nick is an atheist in denial. The most common Christian attack towards atheists is that we are all degenerates because nothing holds us accountable. That’s how Nick lives his life

Nick’s interpretation of the Sermon on the Mount is that Jesus actually said it’s cool to cheat on your wife and swing from Jesus literally saying “Glancing at a woman with impure intentions is effectively the same as being adulterous and a sin”.

His view of Jesus is more in line with Judas, only I don’t think Nick has the sense of shame to kill himself in despair. His view of Grace is utterly self-serving.

My view on Internet atheists is that I have no issues with people who aren’t sure. It’s definitely possible. I still don’t get his sleeping schedule. He claims on Easter Sunday that at 5am he wanted to sleep but couldn’t because he had to get the kids and wife up at 8am to get ready for church at 10:30. Why was he up at night if he wasn’t streaming?

I get that he streams at 11pm (sometimes), but that’s lucky to be 2-3 times a week. I’ve worked a combination of day shifts and nightshifts in the past but I never kept those hours by choice when I wasn’t working. My conclusion from his sleep schedule is that he’s actively trying to avoid his wife and kids.

I honestly don’t know why she puts up with it. No money is worth it and there’s no point staying together for the kids because he’s sleeping during the day anyway and drunk as anything while awake.
