Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

John's logic is sadly on par with all Tumblr/Twitter/Facebook logic over the past 10 years.
If someone is an annoying piece of shit and is not wanted by the group, they look at themselves to find why they were excluded.
Not once do they consider their behaviour or personality to be the cause.
If they are a female, it is obviously sexist reasons.
If they are black, it is obviously racism.
If they are trans, it is obviously transphobia.
If they are gay, it is because the group are homophobic.
All the while, the person being excluded will delude them self and do anything to avoid assessing their own shit attitude.
I think the real struggle of 2016 is when a black, trans, gay woman is a cunt and rejected by her peers. Trying to work out if it is racism, transphobia, homophobia or sexism that is the cause.

TL;DR John is a faggot and no one likes him.

"It was a guy's thing, you wouldn't have been comfortable"

Cue the Apple employees 'coming out' as feeling uncomfortable simply being around men at the workplace. They willfully want to segregate themselves, and then cry when their wish is fulfilled.

"Dev Ops" wut?

Wu has never been a part of a videogaming company or team, other than Giant Space Douche.

Her lies are sooooooo bold....
...one wishes there was a way to due diligence this lie to pieces.

@Jaimas ? Anyone?

Do you even need to ask?

Brianna Wu lies with such ease and frequency that it's frankly easier to point out when she's telling the truth.

This is another one of those "shit that never happened" things that seems to follow Brianna Wu around.

You know what's a hilarious one as far as Wu's game choices to me? Wu's purportedly a fan of Dissidia, the Final Fantasy fighting game. This is actually a sign of good taste; Dissidia is fucking awesome and its prequel, Duodecim, even more so.

In fact, her Steam avatar right now, years later, remains Cloud of Darkness.

There is no way on god's green earth she got anywhere of note in it, however. It is mercilessly, soul-rapingly hard and unless she was extensively using RPG mode to compensate (in which case good fucking luck) Wu simply does not have the skills to git sufficiently gud.

I'm almost certain the whole story is bollocks.

For circumstantial evidence, I'd say that Dev Ops as a job description didn't exist in 2007 when Halo came out. It's a very recent invention which, if you're feeling charitable, is a result of software teams adopting agile methodologies (if you're being cynical, it's a way of making your sysadmins work two jobs and forcing them to be bug wranglers as well.) I'm pretty sure Dev Ops is vocabulary she's picked up from Randi Harper (see also, BIOS, 8086.)

More concretely, in her old livejournal profile she only ever refers to herself as a "professional girly-girl illustrator." There's no mention of being a sysadmin, engineer, or any other technical discipline. Posts also reference her watching daytime TV and doing other non-work activities during the day, suggesting she was unemployed.

Oh, one more thing that occurs to me. Her old App.net postings about source control. For someone who had supposedly worked in Dev Ops, she knew absolutely nothing about version control systems until very late in the development of R60, when they started to use Perforce. I can't imagine anyone who has ever worked a Dev Ops-type job being so ignorant of version control systems. It's a shame more of her App.net postings aren't still available, it'd be a goldmine.

@Jaimas Wasn't it confirmed that Wu pretty much had to be carried by other team members when playing Destiny?
Yes, it's been noted multiple times by a few people.
Wu isn't asking for a group serious about Gears multiplayer, because such a group would boot her ass after about 3 minutes of play.
She wants some Feminist War Cult shit, where there are a handful of competent players to carry the scrubs.
