I'd say there's a not impossible chance of J finding out she's 150 lbs heavier than she thought and the Dr will send her packing because she exceeds the weight limits of the operating table.

She’s going to “no BMI limit” Dr Scott Mosser, who it appears will operate on anyone, and actually says in his bio that he’s given zipper tits to women up to 65 BMI. I suspect he’d see J as a challenge and a bragging right. The only thing that might get in J’s way is the approval of the anaesthetist. They seem to be the medical professionals most likely to call off a surgery, and J might be a bridge too far for him/her. Plus she has another 6 months to gain more weight and become less healthy.

I’ve been in this thread a long time and J is not a narc. She’s not grandiose or irrationally vindictive or demonstrative of excessive needs for validation. It’s not abnormal that having people you’re forced to live with who are not your family take away your one consistent comfort in life would result in negative reactions/memories.

Lot of opinion but I think too much reliance is put on addiction and it's genetic predisposition, much like mental health as a whole -
J grew up in shitty circumstances with disturbed attachment -
Cluster-Bs (as intolerable they can be) tend to have some trauma (whether real or "real to them") early-on -
Undoubtedly her mother (drug issues) had a similar upbringing.

You do not need specific genes to get hooked -
