Why does the Ark the animated series shadow premiere on Paramount plus feel like nickelodeon damage control?
I'd like to mention one of the main people behind this show is Marguerite Bennett

So, like, is anybody someday going to make their own media house that does cool things with the commitment to be as apolitical as possible and just focus on being entertaining? Seems like the field is wiiiiiide open without much competition. I know starting something from the ground up is hard, especially when so much space is taken up by old, large companies. But I just feel like there is a need for easily consumable media that isn't trying to pick a fight with The Bad Guys

Probably not, no. The issue with this is that it will end up like Bitchute where the competition is so big and so entrenched and the field is so monopolized by them that your media house doesn't become a competitor to the other media houses, it instead becomes "That media house where people publish things that are too spicy for the other media houses".

Ignoring the retard tranny shit (Oney is based, true or not), Smiling Friends is barely alike to Rick and Morty. They're built on completely disparate foundations. R&M is a show where everyone is fucking miserable and an awful person and hates themselves and that's the entire premise. The sci-fi shit is a backdrop to shoe-gazing faggotry.

Smiling Friends is a show where the main characters work for a company who make people happy and are themselves happy. They have their own personal problems but they're people who have chosen to make people happy for a living. The premise is positivity rather than negativity and that's what makes it a thousand times more novel than every other piece of shit make in the last 10 years where everyone is sad and gay.

I love how very very angry this show makes people. Even if people "perceive it like Rick and Morty" in 10 years, I will enjoy it now.

Smiling Friends does have lolso randumb, but it’s done to clash with other things. It’s not character pointing it out usually unless it’s to point out something like “Did we somehow cause that man’s death/ those were Crusaders”.

Fundamentally those moments serve to have characters react to the oddity of the world. Like characters being different art styles or animations styles. It’s written by animators and it shows.

I really like also how in the most recent episode, the 3D character sounds like his lines were recorded through a shitty xbox mic.

A lot of the animation is great. You’ll get hyper-detailed characters and then blobs who’ll have a few frames of wierd detail that works well for a joke.

It’s not the standard sitcom cinematography for animation. They’ll change the camera for the joke or point out how the model makes character look weird at certain angles, the newest episode has a character rip off Charlie’s nose in reference to this.

I’ll take “Things that never happened” for $500.
Pretty sure Chris and Zach have never sent their followers or friends to attack someone simply for being trans. They probably just mean, “Chris denied the “fact” that 30,000 trans people are literally being killed every day and that means he treats his trans friends like shit!!!”
Chris actually had at least one trans person on OneyPlays, and I’m pretty sure they’re still cool.

Smiling Friends chads stay winning.
