Despite all the attempts by modders to "spice up" resistance mechanics, HOI4's vanilla resistance mechanics are basically what you'd want in a game like HOI4. The only way I could think to seriously improve it might be to add resistance to even a country's core provinces and integrate it into the civil war mechanics. Beyond that, resistance in HOI4 should be abstract because micromanaging resistance makes zero sense in the game's mechanics.

I liked the old garrison system better, they were basically garrisons you could throw at your enemy at a last ditch effort if you were losing. They also felt real instead of the gay system we have now. A compromise system where your occupation creates garrison units automatically would be nice.

Creating combat divisions out of your garrisons would be a good mechanic, and I won't deny that a better method of displaying how many garrison divisions are committing warcrimes policing in a state would be nice too. I still think however that not having the garrison divisions operate as they used to, with the player setting up a garrison order and watching them march around, is actually good. Divisions engaging in anti-partisan and policing activities shouldn't be 100% ready to go into combat in an instant and should need an action to "call them up" as it were.
The Fire Rises (a 2020 mod where the 2ACW actually happens after the election, Saudi Arabia shits itself and its own civil war causes an international oil crisis, Russia still fights Ukraine and China goes on a conquering spree once America unravels, among other things) has been pushing out a lot of beefier teasers recently, and they also did a six-hour dev livestream of the Trump playthrough yesterday (they unpause & actually start playing for the first time at around the 44:44 mark). I'm not sure these guys can manage a 2024 release to coincide with the RL election, but it does at least seem clear to me that they have way more content implemented & are much closer to a release of any kind, even a demo (in the sense that 1 is an infinitely greater number than 0) than BTWH is or ever will be.
Well, it's official, EaW can successfully pull of the Atlantropa project in HOI4 better than TNO, and do so as part of a April Fools joke. View attachment 5869540

Common Pony Mod W. Really shows how fucked the moddingcape for this game is when a fucking pony mod is one of the best.
I have some shit to say about the Mutassiferite of Jerusalem, but for the sake of brevity and my own laziness, I am going to keep it short. The jist of it in the KR universe is that it was set up post Weltkrieg as a sort of international mandate to secure the Suez and border with Egypt while also being part of the Ottoman Empire. It has barely any content though and gets force annexed by event in 1938 when the Ottoman-Egypt war starts. Even if you select it the game tags you by event to the Ottomans.
It is a total waste of space and could have simply been a demilitarized zone in the Ottoman Empire, because it already is a DMZ zone in game. There is literally nothing for it to do by end Jewish migration and get annexed. The Devs could have had fun with it, but are too worried about modern politics to create any sort of event where Israel or Palestine form or for it to have an actual use. I'm saying this as someone who actually likes the KR Ottoman's mechanics. They aren't too minigamey and are really just managing PP to spend on decisions and keep realm stability high to prevent more subjects from revolting during the aforementioned war. It's a pretty fun path regardless if you go with the Kemalists or the reformists and finally getting to centralize the Empire is actually an accomplishment.

I don't remember seeing anything related to either of those in any TFR teasers. Sounds more like something from another mod, Extremis Ultimis (leans way more into edgelord/memey territory than TFR to my knowledge, released a demo almost a year ago) or Millennial Dusk (loads of ancom dev self-inserts including troon Catgirl Brigades in the Carolinas, but definitively dead since like 2021) perhaps.
I imagine there must be a couple hundred people in the modding community who can do coding/scripting, but out of those I would guess only a small fraction has what it takes to learn whatever language Unity uses. Clausewitz is an attractive choice for anyone looking to do a project because it's so easy to work with.
I know working with established tools is easier and I definitely understand why they do it, but I guess the way I see it is that these guys spend all this time planning out this shit and putting in real-life hours into working through it, all for nothing except e-cred on Internet circles and they do it for free. They would channel this autism into a proper game and make a small tiding for themselves. I'd even feel less negative, personally, about TNO if those guys weren't just skinwalking in the HOI4 costume and instead were developing their own game for it.
NPPFunny was about as humorous as a child cancer ward. Still more tolerable than most TNO groups, but no surprise the retards in "charge" decided to disappear them.
Why the fuck do Some devs (In this case, KX) think that having a route for Pelley would be "Traumatic"
It's a shitty Map Game for christs sake. I see similar things happening in which mods would refuse to add stuff because "it crosses a line" meanwhile having worse shit. KX is arguably the biggest hypocrite in this case if you look at everything they have, Playing as Pelley probably wouldn't even scratch the tip of the iceberg.
I'd understand if it was following workshop TOS but come on.
I normally just Lurk here but i thought this would be interesting to discuss in general, Why do some teams genuinely have this perception that they can't make anything "too dark" in a WW2 game using real Historical Figures?

I do believe they're being sarcastic. KX has a Pelley path for the AUS, albeit one that's more esoteric Christian-based, not just "Confederacy 2: Electric Boogaloo"

My Bad for being retarded. Although it still raises the point of why some Mod teams get so uppity when one could argue the scenario they're dealing with involves individuals that were either National Socialists/Fascists, Radical Leftists or engaged in some other unsavory thing OTL.
Part of me thinks that the excuse of something being "problematic" is at times a cop out for them not being able to think of good content for them, but i know damn well that there are some that genuinely think people would go up in arms over the funny Christian Fascist guy from base game being included and or doing things in relation to his actual beliefs.
