Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

In fact, the more times Zahn returned to that character, the more he defanged and lionized he made him. Stripped of all the villainous qualities that made him a memorable character in the first place, diluted and neutered to the point of being dreadfully fucking boring. And by the time you reach Zahn's modern efforts with the character in his more recent books, fucking forget about it: Thrawn and his species have become hyper-genius blue space elves who are beyond moral and personal reproach, even being the architects of the Skywalker surname.
That's not anything new. Just read Karen Traviss' books on the Mandalorians, and you get the same shit.

The fact that you hate Zahn so much blinds you to the fact that other authors already did what he did, from making a Mary Sue race to changing the characteristics of a character or faction to make them more or less noble.

Just stay away from Chad Xizor and his ahegao pheromones, Disney
Oh, if anything, they might bring him back because he'll be the ideal male victim for a strong female heroine kicking him in the nads.

Don't take this the wrong way, but why do some of you even care about this franchise anymore? It resembles nothing of what it once was. If it went by another name you wouldn't give it the time of day.
Even if a 1970 version of George Lucas stepped out of a time machine with the entirety of his creative team and Disney gave him all the rights back, it still couldn't be saved. It passed the point of no return a long time ago.

It's like watching someone you love destroy themselves, except that person has also done everything in their power to keep you from even wanting to help them, so you get to watch them degenerate without a single shred of guilt.

I still watch the OT and play TIE Fighter and play the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games from time to time, and that's enough for me.

I just have the SWEU to myself along with the six movies and I'm good to go.

Now and then I check on what Disney's doing, since it does have an effect on the popular perception of SW, but for the most part, I just use Disney SW as side entertainment.

Same reason we watch lolcows. We're watching people that achieved fame fall apart due to their stupidity and hubris.

The destruction of something is as interesting, if not more interesting, than its construction.

Next season will be called "Tales of Characters Cut in the Editing Room" and will star Glup Shitto and Constable Zuvio

Time to recycle another unresolved plot point from Clone Wars
...only if it's about a female character.

Is it just me, or does it sound like they got the guy who played to Grand Inquisitor in Kenobi to voice him rather than his original Rebels VA?
This time he's trying to sound like the original voice actor.

So apparently this YouTuber is going to be guest starring in The Acolyte. Now, I haven't watched this person's videos, but she has a thread here on KiwiFarms and I thought it was relevant. I have no idea how to feel about this, but I wasn't going to watch it anyway because it's Disney Star Wars. Anyway, back to reading some Republic comics.
It saddens me that hiring someone with a thread here to be in Star Wars is not the worst decision Disney made for that franchise.
This person is a degenerate tranny who before trooning out and making barely disguised fetish videos, was making videos about the positives of Communism.
I'm still trying to figure out why transgender people are attracted to Communism?

I'm still kinda surprised that Thrawn made it through, He was always such an obscure reference to me because I never read the books (I never cared about the post ROTJ period as a lad) and now he's used as like the only other Imperial villain aside from Vader.

Any normie adjacent to someone well informed about the EU knows about Thrawn. It was only a matter of time until Disney got their tentacles on him.

Thrawn to me was always like that over-hyped restaurant:
It's really good but not the end-all-be-all the fuss the fans coom about.

Marxist like the break traditions, the new is always better and there's no end goal so trannies flashing their dicks, using drugs and so on is a good thing because questions the traditional values. Plus trannies have no personality and commies tend to use their ideology as replacement for such, this and other factors

I remember when it was speculated that she was the Inquisitor that Sarah Michelle Gellar voiced.

...They're actually going to do that and make it official, aren't they?

But why, though? Why not just have Jason Isaacs play him again? He sounds infinitely better.

That and Communism is a critique of (19th century) crony capitalism, and trannies blame their problems on capitalism and not that they're lazy degenerates. Therefore, tranny Communists are just another flavor of them looking for anything to blame for their problems besides themselves.

Every time something in the EU gets over-hyped, it under-delivers.

Zahn's fans act like Thrawn is a peerless genius without flaw, but you find out that his schemes are the kind that bad guys use in young adult novels. Not really the SW equivalent of Zhuge Liang or Fernando Alvarez De Toledo. Contrary to most screeching fanboys, Thrawn as he is depicted in Zahn's novels is not much better than the Emperor or Darth Vader, guys who could probably figure out his paltry schemes and make a fool out of him. I've got no problem imagining a scenario where Palpatine outwits Thrawn politically or Vader crushes him in a battle, even if the two have equal forces.

Karen Traviss and her fans act like the Mandalorians are peerless warriors without equal, who can kill Jedi on a whim, but you find out that the Mandos in her books are whiny bitches, and the rest of their combat record in the SWEU is spotty at best. They won some skirmishes, lost some wars, the usual. Contrary to their reputation as Jedi-killers, they lost most of their conflicts against the Jedi, and the last war they participated in at the end of the SWEU timeline is them getting their ass kicked by Stormtroopers. How embarrassing for the great warrior race that's supposed to have guys trained from birth to kill. They got massacred by dudes who were scraped off the streets and given plastic armor and basic blasters.

The Yuuzhan Vong are hyped up as this galaxy-ending threat that makes everything else look like shit, forcing the Imperial Remnant and the New Republic to join forces. But you later find out that their vaunted bio-tech that creates black holes for defense can be overloaded by firing tons of weak shots to tire out their dovin basals, and in terms of attrition, they got their asses kicked by weakened versions of the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant, meaning that the Old Republic from the Clone Wars or the Empire at the height of its power during the Original Trilogy would've crushed them like the bugs that they are.

The Vong lost to a weakened New Republic and Imperial Remnant where their soldiers were just citizens scraped off the streets after years of war, not the best guys around. Imagine if the Vong went up against the old Empire in the OT when the ranks were filled with real killers led by monsters like Tarkin, Vader, and Palpatine, or the Republic, where the average Republic soldier was custom-tailored by Jango Fett and the Kaminoans to be killing machines, and his commanding officer is one of those Jedi that the Vong hated and feared so much. The Vong would get crushed in a fortnight.

Even Revan from the KOTOR games isn't safe. KOTOR 1 and 2 established him as a charismatic leader who crushed the Mandos at their best and had a solid plan for dealing with the True Sith, you later find out in the Revan novel that he charges into battle against the Sith Emperor like a moron and gets turned into a prison bitch, and he later gets put down by player characters in SWTOR as some random raid boss. The greatest strategist in the history of the Jedi Order, and he gets put down like a rabid mutt twice.

I like the way the starships look. But seriously I do still like the visuals of Star Wars. Even that is all built on nostalgia and member berries. How many memorable ships have there been in the disney era? I liked the razorcrest but that's about it.

Another girlboss themed one?

Oh no, not Barriss again! She was such a good, interesting Jedi before Furloni. Yes, let's ruin her even harder, give her a spinning lightsaber and add her to the ranks of nuInquisitors who have been established as ineffectual baddies.
That's why you want your favorite characters to be overlooked and forgotten. Any established character touched by Furloni gets ruined so Furloni's OCs can shine.
