Warhammer 40k

What would cull the marines? 30k Imperium is so badly thought out.

The Thunder Warriors were hit after they all got in one place and decimated, how do you do that with 18 legions all over the galaxy? You can't even use a bioweapon as they are based on the Emprah's genes. Custodes aren't enough, if they were, they would have curbstomped Horus.
I don't know there was sketchy looking old man who already culled 2 legions and may or may not had ideas to deal with the rest.

But Malcador aside the easiest way might of been destroying the remaining stock piles of gene seed and letting the remaining Marines die off naturally.
Pure speculation here but assuming the webway project was successful the dark eldar would have to be delt with and a potential siege on Commorragh might be on the table for a few legions (also have a theory that the gas chambers under the throne where ment for the knife ears), Orks are orks and will always pop up for a surprise wargh so you need one or two legions on watch for that, and since the emperor knew about the void dragon, it's safe to assume he about the necrons, so the remaining legions would of been on tomb hunting/robbing/smashing duty.

Thank you for any input and advice for a mini painter starting out (again)
Cats! I'm glad you are finding time for a mindful and wholesome hobby.

I've spent the last year or so learning a new to me painting style, which borrows from the lazy 'slapchop' technique, but essentially involves painting from light to dark with thin glazes over a contrasted underpainting.
It's been giving me some incredibly bright minis (I'm not painting 40k currently so grimdark isn't a goal for me at all), with the knowledge that I can ALWAYS make a paint job darker if I want, but layering up bright colours is a pain in the ass.

lol yeah how many new hobbies has it been now? Knife making, Leatherworking, painting watercolors, woodworking, making guitars (though I have technically been doing that one basically since I was a kid). Picking up lots of random hobbies with all this free time I got on hand. I feel like a bored old man sometimes

"slapchop" huh? Yeah you can always darken way easier, and rebuilding center highlights is pretty close to expert territory if you want it to look flawless. I should give that method a try. I really want an elegant and vibrant look to my stuff. Or at very least the ability to CHOOSE to paint that way if the mood strikes me.

Here's some work in progress Chosen I am working on alongside the other kit, and they have the exact same problem...way too dark and "realistically"-styled. I feel like it's just my personal vision/style and I can't change it, as this is the way all my minis have turned out looking regardless of how I try.

Idk I feel like i am just currently missing a small piece of the "Experience Puzzle" that will allow me to force the emotional and tonal direction of my minis into any other direction. On the bright side, my Terminator captain guy looks loads better after being Matte Varnished, so there's that.

I need to remember that I'm going to have to tape off the cape and backpack/parasite of the Chaos captain when I matte varnish him, since I Ardcoated those to make them look more like organic flesh/blood/skin/wounds etc.

Didn’t this guy DFE’d his social media a few months ago because of “harassment”? Can’t wait for him to probably do it again because he just revealed his name and location in White Dwarf.
If I remember correctly the fucking “Primaris Sons of Horus” army they showed off also led to the creator getting rightfully shat on.

Horus Heresy now has an hq called an Overseer who is used for leading mortal, human auxiliaries.

This really is the ultimate show of the disconnect between the cucked 40k setting and the superior Horus Heresy setting.

I mean, it’s clearly a reference to ancient times but everybody knows what comes to mind with the word “overseer”.

Hm, I still think instead of culling the marines, Empy could just stasis them like Cawl did. Literally turning them into pokeymans. I forgot the orks, but the crons and nids would be the most marine worthy target.

He also wanted to make sure they were more stable than Thunder Warriors, seems like too much of an effort for a crusade that ended in 3 centuries. Why not just keep Thubder Warriors around for that?

Not that Russ and Malcador couldn't been the cudgel to keep other marines in line.

Get back to sleep, or the wolf bites you.

I could swear they wanted to fold white dwarf several years ago, the rag just isn't selling to justify the printing and shipping costs.

Didn't a shitload of The Rout get smoked while razing Prospero?
